jirou watched with bored eyes as the merman took some sort of offense to her bored stare. the slap scared the ones around jirou, making them jump and laugh in relief, but jirou hardly moved a muscle. in fact, she just raised her eyebrows, tracked him relentlessly with her eyes, maybe even welcoming the challenge. entertainment? all she knows is that she was stood up on a blind date to this place. the guy was supposed to meet her here about... two hours ago. she was sure he was boring anyway, another suit and tie guy her mother tried to hook her up with, but still. kinda stung.
the mermaid was quite nice to look at, if jirou considered him as something to look at. he had a nice upper body, with a wreath of black hair that floated eerily in the water... prettily even. his eyes were sharp and focused, and even now he was glaring at jirou for some reason, and his dark tail... jirou traced it all the way down. his fins were ethereal and wispy, floating through the water without purpose, zig zagged by darker red markings. the tail itself was smooth, and strong, the way a salmons was she guessed. having to swim upstream to breed must be a great cardio workout.
jirou meandered from her bench to the front of the tank, boldly looking the merman in the eyes the whole time. despite all the chattering around her, for some reason it felt silent.
jirou stuck out her tongue.
