"I could care less, but,” Katherine lifted her head, turning it in the direction of the person whom had been looking at her for quite some time. “Do you have something to tell me, or?”
“What a lively little city this is. I’m glad I finally made my way down here.”
After the long conversation he had with his brother he was shut down. Once again the one he loved turned to his brother. Everything was just so much easier with the switch turned off. He left where the conversation was taken place and walked the streets heading back to his apartment.
Hope knew that it was risky being outside of the estate without someone being with her, but she couldn’t pass of the opportunity of going out and exploring. Besides, what harm could it really do? She would only be out for about five, ten minutes tops. She stopped short at a food stand selling sweets and other foods she’d never had the chance of trying before. Maybe fifteen minutes. She smiled and adjusted the sunglasses she had snagged from her mother’s room before leaving the mansion. “Can I have one of those?” She asked politely, pointing at the most appetizing food she could see, before digging around in her bag for money to pay the man. Just as she pulled the money out, she dropped it on the ground and went to pick it up, only to have a hand beat her to it. “Oh, thank you,” she said, not bothering to look up at the person just yet.
A cool breeze slipped over the curvature of the blonde’s spine, causing a quake to erupt through her petite stature. Though, she could hardly bother to notice, the entirety of her attention was trained on the ever entertaining fine print located in the sociology text book laid out before her. Hours had passed since she’d been holding fort on a bench, glassy azure orbs skimming and pilfering through explanation and example, hoping to take in any and all bits of information that would give her an advantage to obtaining an outstanding mark on her upcoming exam. In one languid motion, she pulled one of two pencils from her flawless top knot, slipping of graphite and underlining the print, completely absorbed in her last minute cram session, that is until two shoes ran in her line of vision, piquing her interest she peaked up through thick lashes.
The hybrid was uncomfortable with the amount of people that were going to be in her space for the next few hours. She sat in the room that was hers while she stayed with the Mikaelson’s, her dress circling around her on the floor, legs sticking straight forward. She looked like a child who was forced to dress up, sitting and pouting in their room until their parents forced them to interact with others.
She eventually pulled herself from the ground, smoothing down her dress as she heard the door opening, turning to see who was entering. “You know, you should really knock before you just enter someone’s bed room, it’s kind of rude to just barge into a random room in a house..” She pointed out.
It was one thing for the Mikaelson family to throw yet another event - but to actually make it themed? It worked well in her favor when the brunette knew exactly whom would be attending. Letting out a soft hum, Katherine lingered by the food and drinks - as per usual - sipping on some rich champagne. Listening to some mindless chatter that took place nearby; she soon looked behind her as she heard someone approaching. “Care to keep me some company?” She questioned; figuring she’d at least attempt to enjoy herself for the time being.
She had been hesitant to accept any form of an invitation from the Mikaelson’s, let alone play at the event for the majority of the evening. She tried so desperately to remain off their radar since arriving to New Orleans, more specifically since the return of the Wolf King who was more of a legend than an actual person until recent years. During the reign of Marcel, little had been said of Niklaus and Elsie preferred it that way. Marcel was difficult enough to cope with for a soft-spoken vampire such as herself. As Niklaus took over and chaos spread, however, Elsie was slowly finding it more arduous to manage her humble means of living. The Mikaelson lived up to the stories she heard of someone with little regard of life, one many considered Death’s greatest asset within the mortal world. His family was no different, she came to learn through experience as events unfolded within the city of New Orleans. Elsie knew only one way to remain an innocent bystander in it all: do not become involved.
Alas, Elsie was at the party, her wide-eyed stare darting between all other faces in the room as her fingers gently orchestrated tunes from the piano provided. She had yet to meet anyone formally, including the family who requested her talents. Her invitation came in the form of paper as well as a large sum of money, an amount too large for her to turn down. She only expected any further transactions between them to remain on the same level of formality. Her quiet nature left her feeling displaced among the others laughing, mingling, even dancing to the enchanting music she displayed before the masses. Behind her stood a trio of violinists who worked in harmony with the song until she was finished. Deciding it to be best to take a small break, Elsie gave the word to continue on without her as she floated off in search of something to drink. She didn’t expect to run into someone along her way, having been so diligent in her attempt to avoid others. Fate was against her as her feet became entangled in something, a rug perhaps, and she stumbled into someone’s back. Instinct took over as her hands reached out to grab the other by the shoulders to balance herself. Elsie’s face beat red from embarrassment as her throat sought for her voice. “Oh no, I’m so clumsy,” she admitted solemnly.
