it's still very funny to me that technically heated rivalry got me into hockey because i sat through the first episode and went okay but where's the hockey????, started watching pwhl games, got hooked, and never went back to finish heated rivalry

I’m not scared of water. I like water types and making drinks just fine. I adore them even. I just don’t like rain or getting wet or deep water where I can’t see the bottom of it or how rain feels against my skin or even the sound it makes.

I just don’t like some water varieties.

new rule: if the concert is not accessible by public transit, i'm not fucking going.

so. took basmati to the vet because still not really eating. vet listens to me and immediately says she has to take him back for blood tests because she thinks he's been poisoned and he's showing early signs of renal failure.

cue me sitting alone in a room having a complete breakdown thinking i have somehow poisoned my not even 2-year-old cat and he's dying. they bring him back to me, damp and upset. cue me waiting another half hour for blood test results while basmati curls up in my purse beside me.

turns out he is NOT dying of toxins, his organs are all good and healthy and blood cells are great. turns out he has a tummy ache or hairball most likely.

we scheduled him for an ultrasound next week just to be safe and he got fluids and anti-nausea medication. the vet did apologize for scaring me because she was also scared since she lost two young cats this week to lily poisoning. i get her concern but also like...dumping that on me immediately and then leaving me alone in the room was Not Ideal.

so we're home again without much progress, but at least we know it's not something super serious (so far) and i've now met my insurance deductible 🫠

been sick to my stomach all day after getting the syllabus for the class i'm taking for the next three months. in my head i was calculating the hours of the class itself but not the hours of coursework. i already work 40 hours a week and with loosenupjudas' new horrific work schedule, we're basically never going to see each other until my certification is complete. i don't know how i'm supposed to keep up with work, class, the apartment, and anything else. my health has already been terrible for a while now and i'm barely keeping up with work.

i wish i was stronger. or that things were easier. or a bit of both.

i've spent hours today "window shopping" online as a coping mechanism and so far i've been resilient but i am quickly being suckered into the summer ikea duvet one reviewer is calling a "perimenopausal dream"

It's Basmati's 1st birthday today, so like totally normal cat parents, @loosenupjudas and I built a backdrop, put him in a dress, and had a photoshoot 🥰 I also may have made custom "Baby's 1st Birthday!" cards and sent them to every person I have an address for.

my forest fire face has now finally healed from the sheet mask debacle so i started using the peach + lily face care i got swindled into by an ulta cashier and...

my face has never felt this nice and smooth before.

i am honestly bewildered and suspicious. i can barely even feel my own acne scars from youth. like. wtf.

it's only been 3 days so i will withhold my full opinion a bit longer but if i've accidentally stumbled upon life changing skin care because i went to ulta with a burned face i will laugh so hard
