/ CADILLAC UPDATES IT LOGO… FOR THE 38th TIME
Ok, after nearly 112 years, the Cadillac brand is entitled to a few logo revisions and updates to accompany the many model design changes. However, it needs to be asked, is round 38 pushing it just a little for this iconic brand?
Looking back over the decades, the Cadillac crest's evolution has involved ducks, wreaths, crowns and flying V's to finally the iteration you see above designed by a 38 member team at GM.
CC'd: wonders why change it once again? No longer belonging to the white shiny loafer generation, Cadillac's goal was to making the brand more youthful while still retaining its history. “In this iteration, you’ll see the crest matches our longer, lower and leaner mantra that we have on the current portfolio of vehicles. It mirrors the evolution we’re going through on our art and science philosophy,” stated Andrew Smith, the executive director of Global Cadillac design.
The crest’s red color represents power and bold actions. Blue stands for valor. Black and gold together represent wisdom and riches. Silver stands for purity and charity.
Will we ever see the ducks make another appearance? Perhaps on iteration 42.
