Seldom did Linhardt actively go out of his way to get to know other students. The only time he really engaged with others is when it benefited him , or just out of sheer curiosity. Of course , Caspar was a well known exception to the rule. But this wasn’t about Caspar , unfortunately.
This was something Linhardt was doing on a whim motivated by the same curiosity that had him spending hours on end in the library , by the same curiosity that led him to approach Byleth and ask them silly things like why they were the way they were — what made them unique.
Today he wanted to ask Mercedes about the crest she possessed. It wasn't too forward of an advance , he thought. Mercedes was … unique, from what he gathered. He was unlikely to receive the same distasteful remarks in response to his inquiries.
He found her in the Cathedral , a place he didn't frequent nearly as often as he should. Well , with the exception of the occasional written correspondence to the advice box and when he passed by the library.
He sits beside her on the pew , empty save for the two of them.
