A bit of cricket trivia:
October 1996: Shahid Afridi scored the fastest century in ODI Cricket against the then world champions Sri Lanka. But he did not have his own bat in his hands as he re-wrote the record. He was using a bat gifted to him, as a goodwill gesture by Waqar Younis, who himself had received that very bat as a souvenir from Sachin Tendulkar, a month earlier. It was Sachin Tendulkar's bat which created a world record, while in the hands of Afridi.
May 1997: Saeed Anwar goes out to bat against India, in a do or die match, but at the last moment changes his mind and switches his usual bat for the one Ramiz Raja had gifted to him a day earlier. That bat in turn was a gift to the then captain of Pakistan, by the captain of India Sachin Tendulkar. Saeed Anwar went on to score 194 runs, the highest individual score in ODI Cricket back then. Sounds wonderful doesn't it?
