Aag lagado India!!! Let’s do this boys 🔥🔥💪💪!!!!! Chak de phir rakh de!
It’s a different feeling altogether when you finally finally FINALLY see someone get their due! SANJU SAMSON, it’s about bloody damn time! I am so happy for this human!!! He played an excellent excellent game today, the most sensible knock in a high pressure, high stakes game where he looked as cool as a cucumber and where this pressure didn’t seem to bother him at all. Take a bow Chetta! It’s something else when you take your country across the finish line and one step closer to the big stage!
I forgot just how obsessed and crazy I am about cricket. I guess that happens when you walk away from something you love with the entirety of your being. Possibly my biggest heartbreak ever. None the less this isn’t about me. The thing that reeled me back in was women’s cricket, I couldn’t be more proud and more excited than I currently am. And boy oh boy has it been the most amazing time ever. Being an ardent fan of the Indian cricket team, quite obviously I’ve been following IWCT doggedly. Currently they’re in Australia playing a multi format series, they owned the T20-I series and then got owned in the 50 over ODI series, all that’s left is the Test series. Given the washout with the ODI series, the Ozzies are leading. I’m definitely heartbroken that India’s Queens were unable to win one of the ODIs but that’s okay, it happens to all the best teams in the world and it doesn’t diminish their reigning champion title. After all the beautiful thing about sport is evolution leading to revolution and the way Indian cricket is going, this is definitely a step up. I mean if me the spectator is heartbroken I can only imagine how hard the players are being on themselves with their performance. Here’s wishing them the best of bouncebacks, they’re an amazing pool of talent and deserve only the best. With regards to Australia, they’ve dominated women’s cricket for ages and I don’t think I can say or write anything that has t been written before, but they were pure fire during the ODI series with their fielding and team performance. What a fitting retirement present for one heckuva world champion, Alyssa Healy. She led from the front in her very last ODI, and leaves one helluva legacy behind. With the Indian squad we have legacy makers evolving and making their mark including players like Harmanpreet Kaur (who continues to raise the benchmark for Indian cricket and isn’t slowing down anytime soon and God love her for that,) Smriti Mandhana (who I believe hasn’t reached her peak level yet and is already trailblazing her way in cricket history and is one helluva badass Queen), Jemimah Rodrigues (also known as the pocket rocket and livewire of the team, who continues to raise the standard with every match she plays and I’m so damn happy is a permanent part of the squad) and a player I’ve really been impressed by this ODI series who seems to be able to absorb and handle pressure well, Kashvee Gautam. I’m stoked for the future of women’s cricket, especially Indian cricket and look forward to the rest of this series.
