Elana shows up at Jitters dressed fairly casually wanting to blend in with the crowd rather than stick out too easily. Chewing at her lip ring she glances around, wondering if by some chance her old friend is around. She isn't even sure what she's going to say to him, how she's going to react to seeing him, let alone how he's going to react to seeing her. It'd been so long and she had just.. Vanished. If he was angry, she could understand it. She should have said something, anything, before leaving as she had.
There hadn't been a day that had gone by that she didn't regret that decision. That she didn't hate herself for it. That she didn't miss him.
Sighing she pulls out her cellphone, grateful she'd kept up her old number while away. Running a hand through her hair, she decides it's probably time to bite the bullet and try to set this right if she can. Carefully writing up a text she rereads it half a dozen times, thumb hesitating over the send button for a full three minutes. Knowing her screen has gone dark she forces herself to light it again and hit send before she can overthink it. Heart racing she thinks back on the text, hoping it was good enough.
[text]: I'm in town, getting coffee at Jitters. I'm *so* sorry for leaving, Barry. If you can forgive me enough to talk, please meet me here?
