A MUN ASK @crimsonthirst sent: what does your URL mean, and why did you choose it?

calamitism is a reference to the calamity trio in a.mphibia! I haven't gotten to write her, but one of my muses is Anne, who's part of that. She, Sasha, and Marcy mean a lot to me, that whole show means a lot to me, and since this blog started out as an animated multi-muse, it felt like a fun reference to pick!

Because I've been wanting to rant about this too, devilvette ofc is a pun on 'devil' and 'velvette.' That said, Cruella De Vil is one of my inspos for Velvette, so the url also harkens towards that.

are they? the statement smolders. unlike the real fire that warms their aching bones, it doesn’t pop. 

“ how do you know ? ” unlike the fire that twists and turns with the flick of their hand, the question isn’t. . . fun. “ we barely know each other. you don’t know what i’ve done, or what i’ll do. ”

this conversation is torment. what is the solution?

“ i appreciate the thought, though. unless you meant i am better in battle – if that’s the case, i have to agree. ”

if not you, then who? the question rings loud in florence’s head. if the blood isn’t yours, who did it come from? 

there were signs of others; bandits searching for forgotten goods, or a hole to hide in when night arrives. did one cross paths with divina? did they, foolishly, try to attack? does it matter? if they delved deeper, they would have to fight. 

“ are they dead ? ” it’s a callous question. florence nearly flinches. “ the. . . whoever you came across – are they dead, or should we expect to find them cowering in a corner ? ”

eyes take in the other’s appearance. up, down, and up again. “ are you alright ? you said the blood isn’t yours, but. . . ”

“i have eyes.”  and was surprised,  actually.  she'd taken no small beating from a redcap,  the hideous little beast coming almost recklessly at her with the keen edge of a blade after shoving her to the ground.  sorceresses on the surface weren't the sorceresses he'd known in the underdark,  of a far weaker constitution.  he would have thought the little beast would have finished her off with ease.

he slid his eyes over her form,  assessing for injury.  it was difficult to tell if the blood was hers or the creature's with the sun glaring in his face and reflecting the water nearby.  replacing his bow at his back,  sol'rys said,   “if you need healing,  i am out.”

Whatever Kore could've possibly asked Divina, the question recedes and dissipates completely from her mind when the heart is withdrawn. Better yet, it's promised to her if she behaves!

Her tail flicks back and forth, and lips press together to try to hide a smile. The heart is her favorite organ.

"Deal!" She's already saying, and holds out her hands to accept her prize.

She wonders if it's still warm, if there's still stored tension in the muscle that will make it twitch once it's in her hands.

"I don't suppose you'd like to share the story of how you got this...?"

There is pain in this girl. That much is evident to Isobel. She would be a poor cleric not to see it ...but unless Divina chooses to seek out help, there's very little that the cleric can do for her other than be present. And perhaps offer some general words of comfort.

"If you must," Isobel nods her head. "I don't know if Jaheira has given you a tour, but I'm sure there are still some beds or rooms available downstairs. It might be a tight fit with all the refugees, but I hope it's enough."

She doesn't spend much time downstairs, or in the company of the many. Not when the protection spell requires so much of her attention ...nor does she wish to open up risk of suspicion from anyone.

"Still... if you ever have the time, or any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer or lend aid," She continues on. "You're doing us a great blessing by infiltrating Moonrise Towers. If there's anything I can do in exchange..."

Was it human? She hadn't been paying too much attention to those stragglers that tried to attack them, but Kore simply shrugs as she looks down at herself. "Either human or half-elf. Didn't get a good look at their ears."

She got a great look of their innards, at least! But perhaps that might not be a topic of interest.

Meeting Divina's gaze though, a smile touches Kore's lips, as she moves to slowly twirl. "You think it's a good look?" She asks, flicking her tail out with some flourish while she poses. "It could... feel better, I suppose. Blood isn't quite as nice when it's cold and dried up."
