Our Eyes Were Closed
"Perhaps…I could accompany you and hear you play?"
The Hungarian smiled at him. Everyone knew the Austrian was famous for his musical talents, yet Lizzy had never heard him play. She truly was curious to hear him.
"If you would allow that I mean…I could always go unpack…."
Her eyes shot down a bit. She wasn’t sure what the Austrian would prefer, and how he would react to her at times. She hardly knew the nation, and she would have to try her best to keep him happy, if even for her own sake.
he paused at the open door, "If you would like, you make accompany me." he turned to look at her.
Our Eyes Were Closed
Elizaveta’s eyes shot over towards Roderich when he accepted her request. Did he really mean it?
"Oh thank you so much Mr. Edelstein! It means so much to me!"
The Hungarian set her tea down and jumped to her feet, preparing to hug the nation before she slid to a stop in front of him. She bit her lip and looked down, grabbing the sides of her dress and curtsied, bowing her head to the nation. She didn’t think the Austrian would like her bold behavior, he seemed so up tight. The last thing she wanted to do was upset him.
"I can take care of them myself if you wish…"
Lizzy stood back up and smiled at him, reaching up to fiddle with her hair as she stood before the nation for a moment longer before she turned to go back to her seat. Standing before him like that seemed so awkward now that she had thought about it.
Roderich had to bite his lip so he wouldnt chuckle at her behavior, "what ever makes you happy." he told her before finishing his cup of tea and placing it aside. he stood up and dusted off his pants, "i must get back to my piano, i was in the middle of commissioned piece. Make yourself at home." he bowed to her before walking towards his music room.
Our Eyes Were Closed
"You can just call me Lizzy…Or Elizaveta."
Lizzy was a name she usually went by with her friends, especially Gilbert. He always called her Lizzy, among other things. The two had been best friends for as long as she could remember. She remembered telling her she had to marry the Austrian, and the Prussian wasn’t too pleased. But she was a grown woman now, and had to do what had to be done for her country. Despite what she, herself, wanted. She didn’t even know what she wanted.
"I suppose sharing a room would be…appropriate…."
She fumbled with the folds of her dress a bit as she stared down at her lap. He was quite the gentleman, and seemed to be treating her like a lady. Something that she rarely experience.
"I have been well…And you?"
The Hungarian did her best to be mannerly, but still her mind wandered. She wanted to explore their home, the outside, ask Roderich if she could bring her horses to his home. But it was far too much to blurt out at that moment. Lizzy took the cup of tea from the maid and thanked her before taking a sip. It was just the way she liked it, with milk and a little honey. How did the Austrian know? Perhaps he just guessed? She wasn’t sure.
"This is quite a lovely home you have here…."
"Alright....Lizzy. if that is the case then please call me Roderich." he smiled at her before taking a sip of his tea. he did so as a way to give himself some time to think, he wasn't sure how he felt being so informal with his former tormentor, though she was never as cruel as that idiot Prussia had been, but then again things where different and they were married now.
He placed his cup down, "I have also been...well. I can not complain."
Roderich studied her for a moment and smiled, "thank you, though it is your home as well....as long as we are married and I do hope you enjoy it here in my country, I understand it must be difficult being away from your home."
Our Eyes Were Closed
"O-Our room?"
The Hungarian was a little surprised. They would be sharing a room already? She had never shared a room before. She watched the maids pick up her bags and take them away, disappearing up the stairs. Elizaveta took a step inside the mansion, her eyes looking down at the marble floor as she stepped in. Her eyes followed the Austrian’s hand to a room she only assumed could be the sitting room. Taking a deep breath, she headed deeper inside.
Lizzy took a seat near one of the windows on a small love seat, looking out onto the courtyard. It was a beautiful day outside. It was sunny, warm, perfect to be outside. Yet she was here, sitting in a room staring out the window. There would be plenty of good days to come. It was only the beginning of spring now, summer just around the corner.
"This is a lovely home you have Mr. Edelstein."
She wasn’t sure what to say. Things still seemed so strange to her. She still hardly knew this man and yet she would be sharing a bed with him come night.
He nodded, "thank you." he said, sitting down and gesturing for one of the servants to bring drinks. "Married couples tend to share a bedroom but if you wish you can have use of any of the free rooms to make into your own."
he crossed his legs just for something to do as they sat in quiet....."How have you been Ms...Hedervary." he paused at her name, not sure if she would use his name now. Usually married couples would share a name but then again they were nations and that made all the difference.
Submission via crinklefry: "Pru~~~!"
The Hungarian smirked as she slipped around the corner of the hallway, heading towards one of America’s silly meetings again. She folded her arms behind her head as she walked with confidence down the hall. The silver haired nation standing near the doorway caught her eye, causing the brunette to hault, smirking as she stared at him. “Oi~! Pru!” She jogged over to him and smacked the back of his head before folding her arms across her chest and wrinkling her nose. “Av you been ignoring me?!” She ruffled his hair, knowing how much it annoyed the nation, the smirk never leaving her face as she eyed him, sliding one hand to her hip, raising one eyebrow. “Not even a call.” She shook her head, knowing the nation would be getting annoyed. “That’s alright Gilly~ I’ve been busy meself. Too busy to worry over little Gilly-bean~” She smirked again at the childish nickname she had given him when they were young, knowing it made him blush when she used it in public.
