Look, I know Star Trek: Picard is about, well, Picard, but it really would have made more sense for the Borg Queen to have a hate boner for Janeway, not JL. I mean, yeah, Picard stopped her from assimilating Earth a couple times, but Janeway really fucked up her shit by stealing Seven, stealing a transwarp coil, restealing Seven (which the queen took personally), facilitating the Unimatrix Zero resistance, and then (alongside Janeway's future self) blowing up the Borg Transwarp Network Hub and spreading the virus that decimated the collective and left the Queen in the dilapidated state we see in PIC S3. So, no shade on JL and his influence, but it would have made more sense for the hate from the Queen's PIC 3x10 dramatic speech to be directed at Janeway, not him.

I don't understand Garashir fans who don't like Miles O'Brien for the primary reason that he's "mean" to Julian. I have seen a few people recently talk about how they feel sorry for Bashir having to put up with O'Brien's insults because he doesn't want to endanger their friendship... all while adoring the trope of Garak picking arguments with Bashir because it's the Cardassian way to flirt. And often the trope includes Bashir being unware of the custom and therefore just fielding random arguments!

Compare the 6.09 Darts Scene, about which I have seen people say that o'Brien should never have joked about Bashir's enhancements because it's a sensitive subject for him, to the 6.01 Infirmary scene, about which Garak's quips are seen as proof that he knows exactly what to say to make Bashir smile and bring him out of his depression.

If O'Brien and Bashir's friendship isn't enjoyable to someone, that's one thing. But this specific criticism, when it comes from Garashir fans, feels very strange to me, because if you can see that Bashir clearly enjoys verbal sparring with Garak, why would you assume he does not also enjoy the verbal sparring with O'Brien?

And if you truly believe that Bashir is a poor little miaow miaow who needs protecting from rough and insulting Miles O'Brien, then he most definitely needs protecting from Garak's calculated, cutting jibes, too. I think he's more than capable of holding his own with the both of them and delights in provoking them, but make it make sense! Garak is just as careless/careful with Bashir's emotions as O'Brien is.

People who refer to Kess as a child are really weird. She's 2, which given how her species ages means shes in her 20s. She's not a child. Just because she might be innocent or naive doesnt make her a child. She's an adult who can make her own choices. Stop infantalizing her. Its creepy.

the way the star trek fandom is obsess with sexual orientation is really weird. And I'm gay. I just don't care enough I suppose. Most american shows don't write any good romance het or not anyway. And I don't think we can't connect the worth of a character with their sexual orientation. But sometimes, this fixation is so weird.

It's weird how some fans say McCoy was never actually xenophobic. They say he was just joking around or that everything he ever says to Spock is friendly buddy banter. It's really not, though, and I don't understand why people push this idea. Sorry, but it's xenophobic when a person routinely implies that a person's culture is worse than their own. And they also say Spock is never hurt by this. I don't understand how people can even come to that conclusion when All Our Yesterdays exists. Spock outright says he doesn't like it. Saying a character has flaws isn't being mean, you know. I love McCoy, but I love him more when you let him be flawed. It's just more interesting. Same for McCoy/Spock. You make it boring when you erase the real conflict of the relationship.

I don't like the part in DS9 where Ezri says Jadzia would have ended up with Bashir if Worf didn't exist. But I'm not blaming Ezri here, I'm blaming the bad writing. Besides the fact that Ezri and Jadzia are different people and would have different taste in guys, the moment sounds like it was written by someone who was mad that Jadzia/Worf and Garak/Bashir was more popular with viewers than Jadzia/Bashir.
