Speaking of 2018 as being a year of cursed fieldwork, here’s a thing I found in a project area on the morning of Halloween.
Feeling a bit devastated. I was just laid off from my job. As were at least three other coworkers. I feel completely blindsided by this. Usually in CRM, it's expected. Projects dont last forever. But I've been at this job for almost two years.
It's hard to believe the year is almost over. #archaeology #crmarch #renolife https://www.instagram.com/p/BqK5LjfFQB2/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=lh76seokrxeo
Chevrolet Corvair (produced between 1959 and 1969) found during a survey yesterday.
I hit myself with the pick axe three times today. I tripped over multiple shovels. I set a bucket on the ground and watched it pour halfway back into the unit. My knee is twice it's normal size from work yesterday. And I can't stop coughing up bile. I'm exhausted and sick and just 100% ready for a break.
Well, that could have been a lot more miserable.
ancient archaeological survey proverb; usually followed by an anecdote about a survey that was, in fact, much more miserable.
Another day of optimal conditions for monitoring.
