I HAVE A JUNIMO CLOCK NOW.

It's hanging in my crochet studio and I couldn't be more delighted to have a clock this colourful and cute and from my favourite game. And the best part? It's ALL CRAFT AND HANDMADE.

Thank you @enby-koi for cross stitching this piece for me 😭💕 the tries you did, the colours you had to get, the counting you had to do! TvT

Some progress pics as I fixed up the piece!

My bamboo hoop this aida was on got all mouldy as we had been having ridiculously wet weather and it's always humid here. So glad I bought this plastic grid thing as a backup idea.

Cut a hole in the grid, snipped a hole in the aida (dear lord I was so worried...). Fixed in the clock mechanism and made sure it worked! 🤩

Then deciding what to do with the border...

Finally trimmed off the extruding aida and tried a black big cross stitch around the edge to hold the piece to the grid.

And the final piece brings me so much joy

I have yet to decide what to do with the empty space below it. Now that I recall these works, i might hang the bunny and mermaid pendant pieces on it! 🤩💕💕💕💕💕

Ooooo must remember to bring those to the studio later!!!

Learn the basics of crochet in this fun two hour workshop brought to you by the lovely “Stitch Sages” at Lovelyarns, Baltimore’s Favorite Yarn Store! Leave with the skills to make your own crochet project!  All materials are included and you will be able to keep your yarn and hook!

Students will enjoy making their own kippah. Learning basic crochet skill including how to make a foundation chain, a single crochet, a slip stitch, crochet in the round, how to do increases, finishing off your piece and how to weave in ends.

Crochet Workshop by James Walters

This book is not about projects, but about the principles that make it possible to design what you want in crochet. In the true spirit of 1970s flakiness, Walters writes, “Treat this book as a set of questions, not answers.” But really it is a set of information about what techniques and stitch patterns produce what kinds of shapes and density, etc. So, you may look at the wacky jumpsuit he is wearing, or the strange metal... hmmm... I am not sure what you call that thing hung around her waist, maybe it is a belt... and think you could do without this book. But if you are interested in designing or simply changing a pattern you have on hand, realize it is one of the books that Dora Ohrenstein, one of my favorite crochet designers, points to as a good source of inspiration and information. Although it is an old book, Dover Publications has reprinted it. One caution: it is written in British terminology.

Nesta oficina vamos dar ao dedo. Inspirarmo-nos e aprender técnicas básicas de crochet e a partir daí criar uma peça de vestuario, acessório ou o que vier da imaginação. Entre estas partilhas de conhecimento haverá também espaço para uma fatia de bolo (vegan) com carinho da Grão a Grão e um cházinho!

In this workshop we´re going to be inspire to learn basic crochet techniques and from there to create a piece of clothing, accessory or whatever comes from the imagination. Between this sharing of knowledge there will also be room for a slice of cake (vegan) with affection from  Grão a Grão and tea!
