But I still got your number and your necklace, kisses to my exes
cross has never thought that he'd see crusade again, but here he is and here they are, near the edge of the universe, once again. crusade looks the same as the day they last saw each other, and cross - well, he thinks he's changed quite a lot now after all that happened.
it's difficult to meet each other again. cross is robbed of any word, and crusade doesn't say anything either. so they just awkwardly stare at each other, both half-mindedly still gripping on their weapons. as if they were going to go at each other. as if they were going to recreate that mess of the last day again.
"you look... well," crusade breaks the silence first, startling cross.
"you too," cross replies, almost on autopilot.
crusade narrows his eyes, and he comes closer to cross. the shorter skeleton reels back in surprise, but crusade only grazes his claw tip across cross' heart locket, his touch impossibly light as a feather.
"... is that my chain?" crusade asks, softly. cross nods, stiffly, his neck burning in a sensation he would feel uncomfortable otherwise. "i didn't think you kept it."
"well," cross huffs, breaking away from crusade's reach. "it's too inconvenient to replace. this doesn't mean anything."
crusade hums, "sure." then in a more delicate tone, "i'm glad you're fine, cross."
"... you too," cross mumbles back after a while, hiding his face in his fluffy hood. "i'm glad you're fine too."
