Years ago my family and a neighboring family created a bond that lasts to this day. It was meeting of Black American/Caribbean and Puerto Rican cultures. I have been changed forever by that experience and savoring some holiday staples like pasteles and coquito remind me how much I love and am shaped by growing up and in a diverse POC community. . P.S.
