DMC Men with Half-Angel Gen! Reader
(Good Omens and Supernatural crossover if you squint)
This was an Anon request, and I'm so sorry, Anon! I accidentally deleted your request😭. Also, you were one of the very first requests I had, but this one took me so long because I had so many ideas, yet none of them were concrete!
I couldn't decide what kind of angel representation the reader would be. A biblical-adjacent? DmC: Reboot (2013) nephlism? Or smth silly like the Angels in Good Omens and supernatural? (I couldn't decide, so I did a bit of mix-and-match.)
Also, are angels a known entity in the DMC universe? I mean, they are technically canon in both DMC and DmC, but there is little to no lore about them. Anyway, I'll stop rambling and hope you get to read it and enjoy it regardless, anon!
Characters: Dante, Vergil, Nero and V.
WC: ~2700
-> My masterlist
Dante Sparda
First Impression…
The twins are by far the most knowledgeable about otherworldly lore. So if angels are well-known entities, Dante had probably met a few like you already.
Now, if he has no idea that angels existed, that's a whole other story.
Because what do you MEAN ANGELS EXISTED THIS WHOLE TIME?!
Where have you guys been when the world was getting plagued with demons? Chillin in heaven?
My man could’ve used a hand when the Qlippoth started eating the city away.
Honestly? He doesnt really believe until you show some of your powers.
I mean, you gotta exorcise some demon with divine light before he goes “Oh, shit, you are for real.”
As long as you guys are on the same side, he is surprisingly chill about it.
Albeit, he is intrigued. He makes a lot of half-joking questions, but the inquisitiveness behind them is genuine.
“So… can you turn the water into wine? It'd be cool to know if you have any abilities to alter physical matter. Plus, hella of a party trick if I'm being honest.”
“Does the Halo have any actual purpose, or does it just look sick?”
“Are Angels bulletproof? Asking for a friend.”
With a biblically accurate half-angel Reader…
In this hypothetical scenario, you look like a normal human but have an “ANGEL TRIGGER” that can turn you into a biblically accurate angel.
You know the picture, too many wings, creepy eyes, divine light, a penchant for violence in the name of judgment and righteousness.
Dante's live reaction:
“What the actual fuck.”
He is impressed, a little bit put off, sure, but what did you expect?
“Next time you turn into that… thing, give me a heads-up. I almost shot you outta reflex.”
If you are a skilled warrior who fights for humanity, he will come to respect you and, eventually, make you "part of the family" with Lady, Trish and the others.
Expect a lot of questions about heaven, god, and the afterlife.
Maybe he once asked you if one of his deceased loved ones is in heaven.
But probably because you are half-Angel and not fully a celestial being, you have little to no answer to most of his questions.
With a Good-Omens/ Supernatural-adjacent half-angel Reader…
In this version, you are odd, awkward and like an alien trying to learn how to behave like a human.
While not fully human or fully angel. You don't belong to either world; you are too strange and mystical to be a human, and not holy enough to belong with the angels.
Dante relates to that: “It's just like my life! In a way…”
You would be incredibly powerful, just not as flashy.
Instead of divine, otherworldly power, you have heavenly protocols and HR complaints.
You are the warrior of god, but you look like an underpaid, white-collar employee who just finished working overtime.
He finds it hilarious how you try to blend in with the humans, but fail miserably. (You remind him of Vergil post the Qlipphot ordeal.)
It isn't that you don't understand social interactions or emotions; You are just unnatural and stiff at them.
He finds it endearing tho.
Loves how you refer to other powerful celestial entities as your coworkers.
Although you are insanely powerful and could easily take out most demons. Dante kind of secretly grows protective of you.
Some romantic headcanons!
Expect a LOT of nicknames. Some cheesy like “Angel”, “Cupid” or "Cherub", some more teasing, borderline mean like: “My Guardian Asshole”, “Sleep Paralysis Angel” or “Divine Nightmare Fuel”
We know Dante; he makes fun of you, but he'll follow you until the end.
Your presence fills him with ease and serenity. I mean, your entire existence is the living proof that there is good, redemption, and peace. Or at least some concept of it.
That thought alone calms him, scares him a bit, too, but calms him either way.
Very protective of you, not only of demons, but of humans who tried to take advantage of your naivety and goodwill.
Flirty as hell, too. Quite smooth, may I add.
“So, what happens if we kiss? Do I get smited or sanctified?”
“Depends on how good you are.”
“Guess I'd better make it count, then.”
Vergil Sparda
First Impression…
Like Dante, he’s been knee-deep in demon lore his whole life. So if he heard of Angels, he wouldn't be impressed —maybe curious, but that's it.
Now, if he had never heard of Angels before, that's a whole other can of worms.
First of all, the idea that heaven exists... It unnerves him a bit.
Like he knew that if heaven existed, there was no way he would be able to get in there, but having the confirmation wasn't so nice.
Now, I maintain the hcn that Vergil is a huge ass nerd, only with a big katana and zero social grace.
Therefore, once you two warm up a bit and he decides you are worth his time, expect to be bombarded with questions.
You could be having an afternoon snack, and he would walk up to you and nonchalantly say:
“Does your kind have regenerative abilities? If so, how much? Could you hypothetically grow a new limb after having it severed?”
“Evening to you, too, Vergil.”
He is really, REALLY curious about what would happen if the Yamato split you in two.
But because you made abundantly clear that you would prefer not to be stabbed and impaled to death, he has to keep that curiosity to himself.
The convo went something like this:
“I once separated my human-half from my demonic-half with the Yamato. I wonder if you would be open to… try it yourself?”
“I would rather not... if it is all the same for you.”
With a biblically accurate half-angel Reader…
Now, following the whole Angel Trigger ordeal. The first time you turned into that, you almost blinded the poor man.
After the jump scare, he is pretty chill about it, surprisingly. If you are his ally, then you are no threat he has to worry about.
Yes, maybe you are a bit unsettling to look at... But hey! His SDT isn't going to win any beauty contest any time soon. So, who is he to judge?
Again, he has a lot of questions.
He wants to know if there is a way to attain your divine power to make himself more powerful.
If it's possible, you bet your ass you just give this man another life mission.
With a Good-Omens/ Supernatural-adjacent half-angel Reader…
(Post DMC5 redeemed Vergil is literally Castiel from Supernatural, c’mon now.)
Finds you a bit… silly. Mildly ridiculous is the term he would have used.
But he can respect the power and discipline you hold. (AKA, appreciates the fact that you can lock in.)
I mean, honestly. If you are Aziraphale-coded (Bookish, polite, old-fashioned… British), you two get along frighteningly well. Maybe a bit too well. Y'all have inside jokes and all that shebang.
For example, you catch him borrowing your favourite poetry collection at least once.
While in general, he respects you and gets along with you. He DOES look upon you for being an underdog in the face of entities you cannot even comprehend.
You are chained to a divine power who sees you as expendable, a servant so close to being a slave. All of that hits him a bit too close to home with his whole time as Mundus's puppet.
I cannot stress this enough; if you are Aziraphale-adjacent and have a passion for books, discipline and structure… Well, congratulations! You've found a nerdy, tea-drinking, book club partner.
Of course, this will happen after a long time of knowing each other; it takes him a while to warm up. This is Vergil we are talking about.
Some romantic headcanons!
You will never catch him admitting it, but he finds your awkwardness kind of endearing.
For example, the fact that you hold so much power but have so little spatial and social awareness.
He calls you clumsy and preposterous, but he hides a smile every time he says it.
I cannot stress this enough: if you are Aziraphale coded, you two will get along like bread and butter.
You would have a kind of Crowley-Aziraphale relationship, in the sense that your optimism keeps his edges from turning razor-sharp.
He appreciates that you don't pity him, try to reform him or change him. He will always value your kind, understanding and unjudgmental nature.
If he ends up loving you, truly loving you. It hurts him every time he thinks about the end.
Because one day, you’ll both die. And when that day comes, you two will go to very different places.
Death will indeed do you two apart.
But oh, well… that’s the price of his choices, the weight of all the sins he’ll never atone for.
All he can do now is make the most of the limited time he has with you — while he still can.
Nero Sparda
First Impression...
“You’re a what now?”
Unlike his dad and uncle, this man is not as deep in demonology and other world lore. From his time in Fortuna, he kind of assumed that “angels” were just another kind of demon puppet, dressed prettier so more fools could be convinced to be turned into slaves.
Honestly, he doesn't believe you at first. He fought demons, gods, demon-gods, his uncle, his dad and so on. But the fact that Heaven is real, that's where he draws the line.
You should expect some interrogation, but Nero-style.
“Do you have beef with demons or…?”
Also, same reactions as Dante: Where the hell have Angels been when he was fighting for his life in Red Grave City?
Again, takes a while for him to be comfortable with the concept; he has a… complicated relationship with religion and doesn't take kindly to the lack of action from your kind in protecting humanity.
Eventually, he cools down, and he gets around it.
With a biblically accurate half-angel Reader…
“DUDE— WHAT THE FUCK, PUT IT BACK!” when you angel trigger for the first time.
He is not scared; he has seen worse, but he is just a bit overwhelmed.
Although he has to admit, you look kind of badass.
Wants to spar with you so badly to see your full, celestial force.
Honestly, kind of want to know everything about your kind and your life.
Has a lot of questions about religion, too.
And like his father, his questions would be absolutely tactless, but with even less grace.
He tried to poke one of the eyes on your wings “Do they feel things? Like, if I do this—” gets smacked instantly.
With a Good-Omens/ Supernatural-adjacent half-angel Reader…
He finds it both funny and slightly cringeworthy. But in a good way, like an endearing, second-hand embarrassment.
Fully teases you with slang you don't get.
“That's mid.”
“Is that an insult?”
“Depends on the vibe.”
“The what—”
But he also tries to help you blend in more easily. Mostly with mundane stuff, like helping you figure out phones, subway etiquette, and why people side-eye you for saying “greetings, mortal.”
Also, find it hilarious that you have a whole “heaven bureaucracy” thing going on. He has worked in minimum-wage jobs and poorly paid gigs before, and somehow you make your life sound even worse.
He tries to understand it, tho.
“So… that angel right there—”
“Archangel.”
“Right, archangel…is he like your boss? Your employee?”
“A little bit more complicated than that, but yes, indeed.”
“So you are just a holy… unpaid intern, then.”
“Well… yes.”
Some romantic headcanons!
Again, he finds it cute that you are awkward but have a good-spirited nature.
If you have the whole "I'm 300 years old, but I only spent about 5 minutes on earth, and it shows" kind of vibe, then he is very protective of you; he wants no one to take advantage of you and your obliviousness.
Extra: if you obey some sort of divine power/hierarchy, he hates it. He despises seeing you being used as a tool. He relates to that, to being reduced to nothing but a weapon, and it hits a bit too close to home.
“They don't own you, okay? You are your own person— or angel– or whatever.”
Tries to flirt, but isn't sure how.
“So, uh... did it hurt when you fell from the sky?”
“Umm..”
“Okay, that sounded better in my head, I know.”
First kiss is a bit awkward, too.
“So… is heaven cool with this or..?”
Nero has a type for calm, sweet and good-spirited people. So I think he would absolutely fall in love with an “Angelic-like” reader. Especially one that fights to do the right thing.
V Sparda
First Impression…
Oh, he is chill. A bit too chill, but chill nonetheless.
This man is used to the strange, and he is living in borrowed time; he doesnt have time to doubt the untangible questions of the universe.
Unlike Dante or Nero, he doesn’t care about the moral implications of angels failing to help when demons plagued and destroyed entire cities.
Plus, the V’s threshold for weirdness is close to nonexistent.
Like, he has three familiars casually around his shoulder, and one is a talking bird. His whole existence was born from some guy who decided to split himself on a random evening.
So, you being a half-angel? That's just another Tuesday.
To him, the existence of heaven, angels and a god is just one more impossible thing that exists in a world that doesn’t make much sense to begin with.
He will make the conscious effort to not think about it, not only because he doesn't have time for this shit, but also because he would overthink and spiral.
Therefore, he doesn’t ask many questions, and if you are a secretive person, he respects those boundaries.
He wrote it in his journal, something like “Met a celestial anomaly today. Polite.”
With a biblically accurate half-angel Reader…
When you transform into that, you almost blew the man away. Thank god Griffon was nearby.
Griffon screams, Shadow retreats and hisses like a cat. V…he just stares at you.
He has plenty of comments, but he keeps them to himself.
“Well… that's an awful lot of wings and eyes.”
He does have some unease about the existence of heaven, yes.
He can't help but think that if he is gone before he reunites with Vergil, what would happen to him? Would he be able to join heaven? He is like… a week old. Or does he still carry Vergil's sins within him?
And if he reunites with Vergil, would he “cease” to exist? Would his soul rest in an afterlife independently? Or would he rot in hell with Vergil?
It unnerves him, it absolutely does. But he knows you have little to no answers about it, since his case is very particular. So, he doesn’t push the issue further, even if it gnaws him internally.
With a Good-Omens/ Supernatural-adjacent half-angel Reader…
Again, like Vergil, if you are Aziraphale-adjacent in terms of personality. You two would get along wonderfully, and even more smoothly than Vergil.
And, unlike Vergil, he finds your moral diligence and discipline... intriguing rather than admirable.
“You follow rules even when no one's watching? Even for entities you cannot comprehend?”
“Absolutely.”
“Interesting. It couldn't be me, but it's interesting nonetheless.”
He finds your awkwardness endearing and relatable.
Also, he is not above finding the whole heaven paperwork/bureaucracy humorous.
“Do you have fill paperwork for every demon you exorcise?”
“Yes. It is greatly demanded of me.”
Trying to hold up his laugh. “...Astonishing.”
Griffon bullies you relentlessly
“Hey, feathers-for-brains. What's Heaven's life insurance like?”
“Ignore him, he thrives on blasphemy.”
Like Vergil, he doesnt flinch or care about your overly formal, slightly out-of-place manner of speaking. If anything, he feels right at home.
Like when, before finishing a demon, you say something like “Bless the souls of the sinful and the dammned, may god grant you the mercy I lack in the afterlife.”
He is like, Yes, you tell them, bestie.
Some romantic headcanons!
He is obnoxiously poetic about it. Your divinity? He feels like touching sunlight after years of being underground.
He thrives on your calmness and positivity; it balances his constant existential dread.
Loves when you quote scripture too.
Physical affection short-circuits him completely, especially from someone so holy and ethereal.
Omg, I cannot begin to imagine how annoying Griffon would be in your whole relationship. I just want you to expect relentless bullying. Shadow is chill about it, tho.
Lots of conversation about poetry; maybe you two bond over William Blake or Dante Alighieri.

A/N-> Had such a good time writing this! And I loved the result. I want to write an Aziraphale! reader x Vergil or V so badly now!
