Ok, im bored and sick so im going to write down some headcanons I have for DMC 5 Vergil.
Headcanons (some of these I completely pulled out from my ass because I can't even tell what's canon and what isn't anymore).
Even though daddy Sparda taught him how to wield a sword and fight, I like to imagine he had a mentor or two before he arrived in Fortuna.
During those years, the guy basically lived on the streets. He did whatever he had to do to survive, took on a new name, and grew to hate humanity and their bullshit more and more.
The fact that V doesn't even know how to eat a hamburger tells me his life wasn't just deprived of human pleasures by choice; he also grew up without ever really having access to them.
Even so, his education, his tendency to use pompous language, and his tactical way of thinking were probably shaped by his need to escape his miserable life. I imagine him spending hours in public libraries (maybe because he could sleep there or be warm), or straight-up stealing books whenever he had the chance.
I like to think he snuck into movie theaters every now and then and fell in love with Hollywood's Golden Age films. (He is a sappy person i can tell)
Art was always his escape from reality, and sometimes I think it's the only thing he truly considers worthwhile about humanity.
I don't think Nero's mother was just some random woman. I think he genuinely loved her, and she was probably incredibly kind to him.
I don't think he was naïve about sex. He probably witnessed it or heard about it growing up. (Or maybe he read about it in a public library—I wouldn't rule that out.) That said, I don't think he had the slightest clue how contraception worked, and figured nothing would happen if it was only once or if it was their first time.
Afterward, I think he felt ashamed. Like he'd allowed himself to be too vulnerable. Maybe he even thought, "This is exactly why my father isn't around us anymore." And that's when he left, making the final decision to cut himself off from the human world.
He doesn't want to talk about her with Dante because he doesn't want the memory of that experience to be tainted.
He doesn't love her anymore (sorry im not that romantic i guess), and I don't think he even thinks about her these days. She only came back to mind after he found out Nero existed.
Idk how to end this bc Im not good at writing... so yeah... thanks for reading
