ohohoho Holly being SquirrelCrow kid also makes her having green eyes so much more sense (well im not cat genetics expert and well i dont mind when kids inherit eye colors from grandparents/distant ancestors bc its fun... but imagine. since Jay have blue [Crow or Hawk] and Lion have amber [Leaf])

I KNOW RIGHT. It also works really well given my design for her, which is a bit more like a tortie, black with tiny ginger accents here and there. She would look perfectly like a mix of Squirrelflight and Crowfeather.

Still not sure where Brambleclaw would factor in. I like to think he'd be the Thrushpelt of the situation, and just as kind and understanding, knowing the whole truth from the start. No matter whether they're his kits, he will protect them with his life, and loves them with all his heart. Depending on which route I go with, he might even feel as though he owes Leafpool, since he killed her mate, Hawkfrost (if I go this direction, it would have been an accident/misunderstanding, as Hawk is very different in my AU).

You know, that would actually fill a few plot holes I have in my rewrite. Squirrelflight also spent, you know, actual time with Crowfeather, and their dynamics would mesh well together.

Plus, I am a sucker for short x tall ships. 🤔 I shall consider it.

If we're just throwing out ideas about the three's parentage, I personally like FeatherCrow the best, just because I think it adds a lot of interesting dynamics to the table, especially after the truth gets revealed... I guess the thing is, I just really don't like Leafpool as the 3's mother. The whole situation seemed almost OOC. I would suggest SquirrelCrow, but I've gotten the impression you ship Brem and Squeak! I'm confident that you'll write the whole situation well, no matter what!

it really does!! I think it would add more OOMPH because it would actually meant that they’re not part of the prophecy, rather than the bs twist-untwist of thinking they weren’t but actually they are so nothing reallyyyyy different

yeah I definitely do like AU BrambleSquirrel lol... I understand if anyone finds that weird or uncomfortable bc of how they are in canon but I’m like. addicted to the idea of the children of mortal enemies falling in love. shakespeare nerd, as established. and I like fixing broken things. like. all of warriors.

Right now, my Three plan is leaning toward:

Firestar’s Quest - Firestar/Sandstar gets a prophecy about the generation of true hate, the generation of true love, and then the generation of true power

TNP - Sandstar thinking that Brem and Squeak running off together (+ Tanella) means the prophecy is coming true and that she needs to lock down the Clan to deal with that possibility. Late game Mothpool.

POOTS - a whole mysteryyy, Mothpool mystic-pregnancy created the Three. I’ll have better explanations for how the whole thing shook out, I’m thinking about the Mer and Jayfeather and stuff, yall will see. Dovewing also has an explanation... but later on.
