Tbh for me personally, that falls under the umbrella of being respectful. If you frame it in a way that’s like “This is really fucking bad, and even though there’s some weird shit going down between these two characters, it’s incredibly unhealthy and I as the author don’t condone this, but these are the characters enacting this behavior for the story, and though they are wrong, they are continuing to do this anyways.”

I think it’s all about how you frame it. You don’t have to like... beat your audience over the head with it, but I think making it far from ambiguous in “right and wrong” is what separates romanticizing slavery and writing about the act of slavery.

Also yes! I followed it way in the early days of yore, but they mostly just write fics now, pfft. Which is fine, but when I see them on my dash I’m like “You’re still having a good time, good for you. :)”
