ooo! hmm.. the route that i went when i got into them in like 2014 (when transgender dysphoria blues came out) was Transgender Dysphoria Blues, White Crosses, New Wave, Reinventing Axl Rose. i later went back and listened to albums like Total Clarity, Searching for a Former Clarity, As The Eternal Cowboy, etc.
if you want their current sound, i’d rec listening from the albums from New Wave to Shape Shift With Me, which gives you an idea of the direction their sound is going ? if that makes sense?
and further back is a different sound. i really enjoy searching for a former clarity and total clarity, as well as reinventing axl rose. maybe start with reinventing axl rose and then go to the others. i always listen to albums in order but for RAR, we laugh at danger and break all the rules is my favourite song from that album, likely.
also, when i was first getting into them, i watched True Trans, which is a documentary with laura talking about trans things with other trans people and her life and being in against me and everyone’s reactions .. you get the gist. it’s a good segue into her book Tranny, which is an excellent read if you ever get the money.
i also watched This Acoustic Show, which, besides being amazing and something i can watch Over and Over, it gives you a good vibe of their (albeit acoustic) music !! also i just … love it ggsdhgs
