CAMP CROWN TASK #1

what is your character’s name? does the character have a nickname?
adrian nicolescu constantin ; generally goes by his full name, or occasionally ‘arie’
what is your character’s hair color? eye color?
brown hair & blue eyes
what kind of distinguishing facial features does your character have?
his eyes are pretty memorable. as is the rest of his face.
does your character have a birthmark? where is it? what about scars? how did they get them?
adrian fell out of a tree when he was eleven - his best friend nikolai had dared him to climb higher, and he’d risen to the challenge. he landed on his wrist, breaking the bone. there’s a jagged scar where the bone broke through the skin, and he carries it as a memory of his best friend every day
who are your character’s friends and family? who does she surround herself with? who are the people your character is closest to? who do they wish they were closest to?
her family are the king and queen of romania, nicolae and lavinia constantin. he’s an only child, but he’s never suffered because of it. his family were always close to their bulgarian counterparts, and at a young age he found a surrogate brother in nikolai of bulgaria, they were the closest of friends for their entire lives, right until nikolai’s untimely death. he has also grown quite close to nikolai’s younger sister alessandra, but since his death they have struggled to remain close.
where was your character born? where have they lived since then? where do they call home?
burachrest, romania. he grew up and lived there his entire life, calling the family’s palace home. he’s often also considered the bulgarian royal family's home his own, though lately, it’s been harder to spend time there.
where does your character go when they’re angry?
these days he’d prefer to be alone when angry. once, he’d have had nikolai to calm him, or at least to be there when he was angry, but now he hasn’t got anyone and it’s easier to go outside, somewhere isolated where he can scream and not be heard.
what is their biggest fear? who have they told this to? who would they never tell this to? why?
it’s already come true. he lost his best friend, his brother ; nothing really scares him much any more.
do they have a secret?

what makes your character laugh out loud?
not much, these days. he’ll manage a sarcastic laugh, or a weak one, if he has to - but generally he’s a lot more reserved than he once was
when has your character been in love? had a broken heart?
he’d fallen in love a few times, over the years ; a girl when he was sixteen who he thought he might marry, but once they got past the rush of lust and teenage hormones, it wasn’t real. a few others, along the way, but none that ever lasted, or worked out. but sometimes he thinks he loved alessandra, or at least that he was falling for her. she didn’t break his heart, but she came very, very close.
what is in your character’s refrigerator right now? on their bedroom floor? on their nightstand? in their garbage can?
he’s not much of a chef, so other than a bottle of vodka that should really be in the freezer and some leftover takeout, it’s empty. his bedroom floor probably has some dirty clothes he’s been meaning to pick up ; his nightstand an empty glass of water and his phone. his trash can has a few used tissues and a takeout menu from a place he’d hated.
look at your character’s feet. describe what you see there. do they wear dress shoes, gym shoes, or none at all? are they in socks that are ratty and full of holes? or are they wearing a pair of blue and gold slippers knitted by their grandmother?
he habitually wears dress shoes ; though they’re not very suited for camp, so he’s got a pair of sneakers to wear whenever he has to
when your character thinks of their childhood kitchen, what smell do they associate with it? sauerkraut? oatmeal cookies? paint? why is that smell so resonant for them?
the palace’s kitchens could make everything, but he was also raised on plenty of traditional romanian food. his personal favourite was a cake called pasca, which was meant to be for easter only, but he often asked for year-round. the smell of it baking is his possibly favourite thing in the world.
your character is doing intense spring cleaning. what is easy for them to throw out? what is difficult for them to part with? why?
he can part with most things ; clothes and shoes and other bits and pieces are parted with easily. there’s a few things here and there, though, that remind him of nikolai ; gifts from birthdays and christmases, things picked up on their adventures - he’d all but die rather than part with them.
it’s their day off. what is your character doing?
taking some time to himself. he’s grown a lot more reclusive recently, though he was always inclined to spend time alone when he could. he likes finding quiet, out of the way places where no one will bother him.
what is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? why is it so powerful and lasting?
adrian’s strongest memory from his childhood is possibly the day that his father told him he would be king one day. he was quite young, no more than five or six, and though he’d always known his father was the king, he hadn’t realised that meant that he would be one day, as well. it had excited and scared him in equal measure - the idea of being a king was fascinating for a young boy, but he also realised then that one day his father would die, and that struck him hard.
your character is getting ready for a night out. where are they going? what do they wear? who will they be with?
he doesn’t go out much, any more, but when he does it’s in a clean, perfectly cut suit by whichever designer he’s favouring. he goes mostly to exclusive clubs, not wanting to mingle too much with strangers, and it’s often alone ; his partner in crime isn’t there, but there are plenty of other people willing to keep him company if he wants it..

name: emily age: 23 timezone: GMT +10 have you been to camp before?: yes, once when i was about twelve if so, what’s your favourite memory from camp?: probably playing truth or dare with boooooys. because for twelve year old me that was very dramatic stuff, i’m pretty sure i had a very early awkward kiss in front of everyone and everything. i was gonna mention how i nearly drowned at the beach but that’s not really a favourite memory, just a…memorable one what do you think of when camp comes to mind?: either nearly drowning at the beach and losing my bikini top (good times) or like. the parent trap.

she was born in wallonia, belgium. she has lived their her whole life, though she lived in paris for a year. belgium is her home.

she goes to the dance studio. she has danced ballet all her life & still uses it as a release.

her biggest fear is being ordinary & alone. she has never told this to anyone & it’s likely she never will.

she had a relationship with an older, married man & it’s why she’s at camp.

stupidity, funny cat videos.

she has never truly been in love, but her heart was ‘broken’ when the married man refused to leave his life.

probably salad or other healthy options. she has pairs of shoes scattered across the floor. makeup & jewelry occupy her nightstand. an empty tube of mascara & used tissues reside in her garbage can.

taking a long, relaxing bath with soft rose petals floating in the water & sipping pink champagne as she plays old 60′s records.
what is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? why is it so powerful and lasting?
a strong memory is her coming out party when she was merely a debutante. it was the day that marked the start of her life.

she’s likely going to an extravagent party thrown by someone rich or royal. a slik slip dress glides her slender physique, & her hair is likely sported in curls, diamonds adorn her neck, wrist & ears, & possibly even her feet. she is either going to be with strangers, or her typically party-goer crowd.

What's your character's name? Do they have a nickname? Danah Ahman Fuad bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Ali is most commonly known around camp as ‘Danny’, or, to the under-11s, ‘Mr. Danny.’ Danny’s name is actually pretty short for Middle Eastern royalty from what I’ve researched.
What’s your character’s hair color? Eye color? Danny has dark brown/black hair and dark green eyes.
What kind of distinguishing facial features does your character have? His eyes are very large (his hated nickname as a kid was ‘Frog’) and he usually has some kind of crazy grin on his face. There was a rumor around for a bit that he plugged a fork into an electric socket as a kid, but it’s just genetic.
Does your character have a birthmark/scars? No, but he is suspiciously hairless for a mature mammal.
Who are their friends and family? Who do they surround themselves with? Who are the people your character is closest to? Who do they wish they were closest to? Danny didn’t expect to inherit the throne mostly because he’s the King’s nephew, not his son. He grew up a reasonably normal, if wealthy, Muslim household. Danny’s first language was Egyptian Arabic, his second being Swiss German because his family lives in Switzerland. However, when his uncle the King died of natural causes, Danny chose to take over diplomatic duties because his cousin (the true heir to the throne) was only 3 at the time. It’s been 12 years, but Danny’s family still doesn’t think his cousin is ready for the throne yet because of his negative attitude and the My Chemical Romance cover band he won’t quit. His nuclear family includes his mother, father, and his three younger siblings. He’s still very protective over his younger siblings, even though they’ve all moved out except for his 12 year-old sister. To be honest, Danny is a hippie. He considers everyone at camp his friend, but he has a special fondness for little kids. He’s the sort to only give lectures on Egyptian culture and language to the older kids if he can wear his dollar store pharaoh costume. He’s not especially close to anyone, and he’s happy with his interpersonal relationships as they are.
Where was your character born? Where have they lived since then? Where do they call home? Danny was born in Geneva, Switzerland. He’s only lived at the family chateau and camp. Out of the two, he spends more time at camp, and calls it home since he feels more useful there.
Where does you character go when they’re angry? First, Danny watches his favorite movie, Care Bears II: A New Generation, in the rec room. If he’s still mad, he goes back to Switzerland to sulk in the chateau for a bit. Danny getting angry is a near-mythological event, however.
Does your character have a secret? Danny changes the topic in a really obvious way when people ask if he’s royalty. It’s kind of an open secret, however.
What is their biggest fear? In essentials, persecution. Danny wants to have his faith and pledge his allegiance to Egypt in peace, which he fears will never happen with the current civil unrest. He hasn’t told anyone this because he doesn’t know how to put it into words.
What makes your character laugh out loud? Care Bears II: A New Generation.
Has your character ever been in love? Had their heart broken? To be honest, I kind of conceive of Danny as aro/ace as far as sexuality is concerned. He puts a high value on platonic relationships however, and he just loves the concept of love. He likes weddings and cheered on his younger sister (4 years his junior) when she married another woman. He did get his heart broken, however, when the Arab Spring broke out in 2012. He spent a year at the United Nations negotiating to get his people aid.
What’s in your character’s refrigerator? Nightstand? Bedroom floor? Garbage can? FRIDGE: two twelve packs of Gatoraide, one six pack of blueberry Greek yogurt, four unripe peaches, one round of brie cheese, two 3-pound packages of gummy bears (he keeps them around for small children as a treat and they melt in his cabin if he doesn’t keep them chilled), three Care Bear ice packs, one box of fruit juice popsicles, two jar of cold brew Turkish coffee, some home made baklava his mom overnight’ed him and one box of fresh figs. NIGHTSTAND: One emergency first aid kit, three flashlights (in case one runs out of juice) and a copy of the Quaran. BEDROOM FLOOR: Three roaches that Danny doesn’t have the heart to squash because they seem to get along with each other well and he’s a hardcore believer in the emotional wellbeing of insects. GARBAGE CAN: junk mail from the local supermarket, one bandaid wrapper and three popsicle wrappers.
Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see. He’s either wearing just socks (his favorite pair are the Mona Lisa ones because they make him feel distinguished), horrible old woman birkenstocks, or nothing at all.

His mom always had a fresh square ready for him after he had finished with soccer practice, and even today he loves her for those labors of love she never expected a thank you for. Danny’s mom is definitely his biggest role model. When he thinks of love, he thinks of her.
Your character is doing some spring cleaning. What do they keep and what do they throw out? Danny’s definitely a minimalist when it comes to belongings, which makes sense since he lives in a tiny cabin. He wouldn’t throw anything away except for a couple of sweat stained t-shirts.
Your character is getting ready for a night out- Lol, do you seriously expect Danah Ahman Fuad bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim to go on nights out? A night out is him roasting marshmallows with seven year olds. And goddamn it, he likes it that way.
