Hello! I saw you wanted to get back in the swing of writing, but I couldn't find your prompt list (probably because I'm dumb), but is merthur + modern au + soft mornings a good prompt?
(It’s because I was too dumb to embed the link correctly....jfc how quickly you forget basic html...it should work now, but yeah, it’s a nice prompt. i’ve never written merthur before, so I hope you’re not disappointed!)

The first time they wake up next to each other is -
Well.
Merlin would be hard-pressed to say it is perfect, but in retrospect, he should’ve expected exactly this:
The sun isn’t bathing the room in a soft glow. It’s raining, as is par of the course for London, and the only reason the frequent police and amulance sirens that he still hasn’t quite learnt to tune out didn’t wake him this time is because he never truly fell asleep in the first place.
It turns out, Arthur’s snores are louder than a bloody chainsaw, and he steals the covers to boot, though - “
“I do not!” Arthur protests hotly, when Merlin brings it up.
“Yes, you do!”
“I will not be insulted like that!” Arthur fumes. “Did you know it’s still a crime to slander royalty?”
“Uhh, I don’t think that’s a real thing anymore, otherwise no one at The Sun would still walk the streets,” Merlin points out. “Also, aren’t you like, number 274 in line for the throne? I don’t think this can be classified as royalty anymore.”
“Shut up.” Arthur’s skin turns a delightful shade of pink, though from indignation or embarrassment is hard to tell. “Anyway, you kick like a mule. You don’t see me making any comments about your country upbringing.”
“I think you just did.”
“Shut up!” Arthur repeats, and when Merlin opens his mouth to argue, he simply kisses him until neither of them remembers what they were talking about.
The thing I've found out after one or two tries at NaNo is that I can force myself to write daily that many words, but sometimes it feels too much like a chore. So my goal became from writing 50k words to writing daily at least 200 words, at my own pace.
That’s an amazing goal! Do you keep to the 200 words outside of NaNoWriMo as well? (Which, if you do, #jealous, I can’t be that consistent always).
50k is a LOT of words, and sometimes it feels like too much (especially if your story doesn’t feel like it’s going to need 50k to be told), so breaking it down makes a lot more sense.
Personally, I like doing 3k to 4k on average, which means I get to have ‘days off’ where I don’t have to write at all, because I’m ahead on the word count.
