【 lyric starter. @cruen. song. 】
❝ hear on the wind how the pendulum swings. feel how the winter succumbs to the spring. ❞
❝ did you really just light your blunt on my menorah? ❞
only jews in this house / acc / @cruen
❝ well it’s supposed to be helper candle, right? the shamash lights all of the other candles for the holiday. and this is a very important candle that you smoke out of.❞
trevor spins the lit paper in his fingers before holding it out to alucard to offer. he’s still new to this. his family has spent so longer under the thumb of the church without so much as a hope of leaving it he never got to consider what it would be like to feel at home with another religon.
the world has changed though. he has spent nights curled up around alucard and sypha, eyes barely open listening to them discuss the words of god before the christianity wrapped it’s strangle hold on europe. it’s soothing almost the sound of them bickering about the state of word of torah. the speaker interpation of doctrine versus a traditional one.
he cannot read the holy book himself, the letters of latin and english spent more time jumping around on the page than he would be able to read for long periods of time. he doubted he would ever be able to understand the hebrew even if he tried. and audio books of any holy book are always tilted, but he’s learned enough to know what he’s doing. sort of.
❝ consider it the tenth candle.❞
❛ it’s hard to imagine there are ... good-natured? would you call it that? —— good-natured vampires, considering what the last vampire i met did to me. ❜

Being on edge & constantly looking over her shoulder had quickly become the norm for Aizhan - even more so as the sun began to dip below the horizon. It was colder now, once something she looked forward to; now, the chill never seemed to abate, so sunken into her bones that, no matter what she did, she shook.
( She didn’t know how long ago it was that she accepted this to be fear. )
Food was scarce- especially so in the villages and towns, where more people congregated. Power in numbers, they might think it to be. Really, couldn’t they tell that the larger cities drew more of the night creatures than anywhere else? she can’t help but think with a shake of her head.
She’s broken out of her reverie by a rustle in the underbrush, turning on her heel and reaching for the dagger at her waist- only to pause. The man on the path behind her was obviously not a monstrous creature of the night’s hoard ( though she knew well enough by now to not trust anyone who seemed human upon first glance ) so, with a shifting of her weight, one foot slightly behind the other to give her a better chance at running, small though it may be.
Her head tilts, studying the blond with narrowed eyes, and her voice is clipped as she asks, ❝I suppose you already know that traveling alone at dusk is dangerous around these parts?❞ // @cruen
