SCRIPTURE:
I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, and He will hear me. I sought the Lord in my day of trouble. My hands were continually lifted up all night long; I refused to be comforted. ~ Psalm 77:1-2
OBSERVATION:
Cry aloud... Lift my hands -
Kinda goes against my Presbyterian upbringing... makes me feel uncomfortable and/or self-conscious...
But that's the point, isn't it... not to draw attention to myself, even to myself...
...but abandon myself to Him and His acceptance of me coming to Him...
...and to being comforted by nothing but Him...
APPLICATION:
Cry aloud...
Lift my hands...
Abandon myself...
Be comforted...
PRAYER: (Folding in verse 11)
Accepting Father God - I come before You, remembering Your works and ancient wonders... You know my heart and mind and yet seek to hear my voice as well, and to see my hands still and raised to You, ceasing their busyness being opened in praise and receiving Your presence and blessings... Forgive my abandonment of Your Word and Will for my own wants and desires, and for accepting temporary selfish comforts instead of relying completely on You for all things... In Jesus's Name, Father, and for Your glorious praise in thankful worship...
As always, yours always, in all ways ~ through Him, in Him, and for Him...
