some tips for my rdr2 fanfic writers (or just western writers in general):

portable lighters weren’t even made possible until 1903, and as far as I can tell weren’t popular until the release of the Ronson Pist-O-Lighter in 1910 and the Wonderlite in 1913. (links go to the articles I looked at for this information.)

belts weren’t used to keep pants up like they are in modern times until the 1920s. in fact most trousers didn’t even have belt loops until then. they would’ve been mostly decorative before that, folk were still using suspenders the vast majority of the time!

like from X-Men, to Superman, to Black Panther, to Wonder Woman and every single movie or comic book - all deal with someone having the power to fight injustice.  The only thing that differs is the lens through which it’s told.
