Description: Ever since the Spanish settled in the Santa Lucia Mountains in California, people have seen large, shadow people looking down from the horizon. His son, who was made famous by writer John Steinbeck, would later claim to have seen these creatures. According to folklore, no one has ever seen them up close or lived to tell about them.

Description: Marine biologist William Beebe ventured to the depths of the sea in 1938 in his bathysphere submersible to witness what lay beneath the waves. And sure enough, he found something. A massive dragonfish, which he described as 6ft long and bioluminescent. No one has seen such a fish since, with the largest known dragonfish being only 55 cm long.

Description: In the 1950s, a motorcyclist driving Peak District in England when he saw a large, black slug crossing the road. He said it was as big as a whale with a massive eye. According to the motorist, other people have seen this slug as well

Description: Missie was a semi-aquatic, rodent-like animal seen in Mizumoto Park in Tokyo, Japan, during the 1970s-1990s. While some described it as a giant muskrat, others described it as a 9ft reptile, probably an escaped pet.
Cryptid of the Day: Wog
Description: Recounted in the 1914 book, “The Early History of Jackson County, Georgia”, GJN Wilson told of a wolf-like creature called the Wog. Described to be horse-sized, with a whip-like tail, an 8-inch forked tongue, and red eyes, it only came out at night to hunt its prey. It was also seen near a “mud volcano” in Winder, which is said to be a gateway to Hell.
Cryptid of the Day: Kidoky
Description: The Kidoky of Madagascar is described as a 4-5ft lemur, that hops on the ground and makes a “whooo” call. It was first seen in 1952, and some researchers think the cryptid is a relic species of giant lemur.
