“Neith.”
8 O'Clock at Charlie's
When I came back to this city, I didn't know how I loved this city, robbed from history, but fast, palimpsestuous, each time erasing the years I spent cowered, the years I stopped writing, stopped sending you letters. City of orange nights, satellite ghosts, you tighten your rope a cross storm god & time, across chickpea cans, where my gut flutters & memories flush, each time rewriting the storm, the time, the underground water.
