Recently posted to @knownorigin.io as a #cryptorare #cryptoart #blockchainart piece. One of three works that was a collaboration initiated by @oficinastk and contributed to by @mattiacprodukt and I, each of us using part of an imaginary landscape as a starting point. Of course we all went in our respective directions with this. The title of my piece is 'a map is not the territory'. My immediate reaction was to reconnect the abstract graphic to something that we can see with the naked eye. I chose to overlay and mix images I had taken with a digital camera, scratching them as marks of frustration at what I perceived to be the impossibility of the task. The images were taken during a trip to Africa, the textural landscapes of the Namib desert acting as a bridge. The skull of an elephant from the same trip and a dahlia represent smaller, fragile narratives within the larger time frame. https://www.instagram.com/p/BrqBwu4Br38/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1rcvdqtwlxvin
