Arcade game from 1983 called Cube Quest, thought to be one of the inspirations for the Polybius urban legend. It's certainly possible that this is the kind of game people might have played when they swear that they played a game back in the day that matched the description often attributed to Polybius. Cube Quest's time in the arcade was short-lived because it was very expensive and needed constant maintenance due to the LaserDisc technology it utilized.
