Ghost in the scripts

THIS IS ABOUT RATTMANN'S DISKS. they were removed from portal 2 just as he was. But there are still traces of them. A disc that falls out of the cube dispenser in the faith plates test, some desks with disk boxes grouped in suspicious ways both visually and in files, a ghost entity named rattmanndisc or something like that.. I miss this dude so badly, give my pookie a second chance valve, did you really create him for portal 2 just to abandon him later? We all know all the plot holes that would appear if we removed him could be stitched up so easily, nobody would even question it.. I can see that artificially putting him into the plot in such a smooth way and even creating a whole comic about that took effort.. why abandon him just now? I understand why they didn't get him in portal 2. He'd ruin the isolation with robots. But discs?.. well. I guess since Mark Laidlaw left with no comment on his fate we probably aren't getting even a crumb.. too bad..
