The dynamic between Cuddy and Thirteen actually means a lot for Cuddy's character and this is my favorite part about this ship. A strict and principled boss sleeps with her young female doctor, breaking two rules at once: subordination and self-determination. This overlaps with her motherhood storyline, as her desire to have a child also hinders her career. All the characters look to Cuddy and expect her to fulfill specific desires, but she herself doesn't know what she wants. The development of a character whose world has changed so quickly and she still chooses between her personal life and her career. Thirteen's "life and death" problems add even more justified drama and this makes it possible to draw a conclusion:
Life should be lived in such a way that when you die, you don't think about missed opportunities. Sometimes you have to break the rules.
The series itself is full of drama, I think something like this would fit in very well!
The real reason Cuddy left was her honeymoon with Thirteen.
