three and a half things on a Wednesday
1. ... the day was nice-ish actually, but there's a social anxiety overthinking loop stuck in my brain rn, so accessing something else for this is quite challenging + I feel ambivalent about picking something else anyway because ,despite said loop, what I liked best about today still concerns the amount of socialising I managed. Even if I only to initiated ca. 1/3 of it by myself and felt like the embodiment of an extremely nervous Chihuahua a couple of times (and it definitely showed in my tone of voice and body language despite me being 100% down with having a conversation).
2. the way the leaves were dancing in the wind on my commute - autumn is my favourite season for a good reason and that was a genuine 'isn't it marvelous to be alive and witness these small joys' moment for me, something my late grandma, for all her faults and hardships, had a talent for.
Oh and the very young, very adorable and very happy looking Golden Retriever I saw today.
3. I pick pride today - I participated actively and with high frequency in one of my college classes today, despite the presence of over 40 people, personal embarrassment over certain topics and my fear of public speaking/social anxiety running at an all time high at the moment. My ADHD makes my thought process a bit hard to follow for your average NT at the best of times, but I when I am nervous that tends to get amplified by a tenfold. Thus, I have to live with the knowledge that some people probably felt annoyed with a) how fast I talk, b) the occasional lack of coherence and c) the general rambliness of it all. Yet I still did it, because I am interested in the material and want to engage in class over it.
