Sam had flopped on the couch, falling asleep almost the moment his head hit the decorative pillow. He’d needed a break from...from everything really. Kai’s interest in him had been exhilarating at first, filling him with confidence he’d long ago thought he’d lost. But it hadn’t lasted. These things never did, and now Sam feared he was too deep in it to leave...so for now a nap was the next best thing. Alas, that couldn’t last either as he was stirred back into the waking world but the feeling of someone sitting down by his feet. Still bleary-eyed, he lifted his head to see Winter, Kai’s ever loyal sister. “Hmmm...” he begin, waking himself up a little more. “You needed a break too?”
