Observing NY's Indigenous cannabis startups: they weave ancestral practices into contemporary health markets, sustaining economies amid Heritage Month. It's a grounded revival of knowledge. Here in Australia, parallels with Aboriginal bush tucker and medicine initiatives prompt reflection—fostering connections, respecting sovereignty, and nurturing human-centred progress across our peoples.

#zulu #sangoma #19thdynasty #moderntimes #culturalcontinuity The first image is from the tomb of Irynefer, "Servant in thePlace of Truth" a necropolis workman of the Ramesside Period. He lived in the village in the 19th dynasty during the early part of Ramesses II's reign. Notice the seemingly white wig that the man and woman has on.The other pics are of Zulus continuing on their cultural practices from their time in the Nile Valley. These are the Sangoma who are traditional healers who also have other social and political roles. Divination plays a big part in their healing practices. Their wigs are adorned with white beads. This is one of many cultural practices that they carried with them that are still just as identifiable now as they were thousands of years ago before the Zulu came to South Africa. https://www.instagram.com/p/B58XyUbBFGQ/?igshid=vyapwj3dnryi
