Athena is officially 4 months old! Wittle fox just had another growth spurt and is lookin more and more like a wolf every day. Most of you don't know but on my 2019 goals, our top priority was getting a dog. It really boils down to, I have so much care taking energy, that I just need someone to put it into. We knew it for a long time we needed another creature in our nest. And, holy shit, I'm so grateful the universe brought us to Athena. ✨ 🐕 ✨ So here's an update on our girl! Cause, look at that faaaace!! Where did my baby go?! Look at those ears standing all on there own! She's the best boop monster ever!! Her personality is really shining, && all in all, she's the sweetest, incredibly intelligent (with a touch of sass) and completely perfect for us. She genuinely thinks she the welcome committee for all hoomans, and looks at me like "what the fuck!" when people walk past her without giving her pets. She loves to adventure with us, and is doing SO freakin good with training (in the class room, at home, and on the trail). We are constantly impressed with her; by how intuitive she is, or how quickly she learned something, ...and let's be honest, by how stinky beautiful our baby is. ✨ 🖤✨ Thanks for giving me the space to update you on our newest addition to our family, and for being so understanding on my lack of presence. Athena quite literally does not like when I am on my phone. She will paw it away, try to take it from me, or simply moan & groan that I'm on it around her. When was the last time you gave your body permission to rest? . ☕ . I mean really slow down and check in with every fiber of your being? Where are you aches and pains? Where are you holding tension? Am I holding stress in my jaw or chest? Some times when we are just lounging around we don't even notice the pain we are in, we just lay there and hope our brains turn off for a second. This morning while enjoying my coffee with Ronnie and Athena I felt a subtle pain in my mid back, one that I ignore quite often. It got me thinking, how often to I sit in front of the TV and completely neglect the signs my body is giving me to take care of it. Last night we did some gentle yoga, so it looks like I'll be be needing to do a longer session to alleviate some of this tension. . ☕ . So, that's why this is my challenge for you today. Grant yourself permission to just rest and tune in with your body, see what you need. Be mindful in your stillness. Do you need more healing movement like me? We took Athena out on the trail for training and the pup did amazing. I swear, she amazes us every single day with how intelligent and sweet she is, && watching bask in our adventure with us made my heart sing as bring as the sun shines.
