I am so incredibly sorry about the outrageous time it took me to answer.
To be honest I'm a very indecisive person so anything could be retconned out of existance at any second buttt let's see.
Anyways, before judgement day, I imagined he always sort of sticked out among the rest of the crew because, well, he's already dead. He's bitter and quiet and asocial. I imagined his backstory is veryvery long and convoluted and it probably involves the Phantom Express but short answer: he hates everyone.
He died hating the living because of envy, pride and greex, briefly went with the Phantom Express but ended up disliking them too, met the Devil while still with the Phantom Express crew, The Devil smelt his lingering hatred and desire for revenge, the Devil saw the opportunity for a deal and he signed it. He didn't sign his soul, just moved on to work in exchange for a place to live and a position of control he really liked. He's fine working in the Casino if it means he gets to see suckers get their just punishment for betting their souls, and he loves his duty of handling the betting races.
As for when judgement day happened, when the crew took over Hell, he reveled in his new job (like every other casino boss) and his new powers gave him an ego boost. He already managed the betting races, which weren't fair and always had a set winner which he decided. He was very manipulative in his time in the material plane, which translated into Hell too.
He's very controlling. He oversees most of what happens and makes sure everything is "in order", he's in charge of supervising punishments and tortures, he controls how the structure of Hell is doing along with Pip&Dot, and there's not a nook or cranny in Hell that his grabby hands haven't reached.
Literally.
Oh yeah he's half spider now. A bit similiar to his beta design, his station is firm on the ground with many limbs stretching from it, all equipped with hands, moving and seeing and acting all throughout Hell. The web of limbs and hands is much bigger than what is pictured and multiple limbs split off from multiple joints. The hands make deliveries, reprimand Demons slacking and cause more suffering just for the sake of it.
His horseriders and skelehorses minions are still around! They're still working for him, well, most of them at least. He lended a horsie to Chips, he insisted. He also met the four horsemen of the apocalypse, he doesn't like em much, but he doesn't like anybody, so.
He respects King Dice though, and a select few of other members. He thinks all of them are annoying still, aside from maybe Pirouletta. He has long chats with Wheezy, Dice, Piri, occasionally someone from the Tipsy Troop, he speaks a lot with Pip&Dot now for work too. In the casino he used to talk a lot with Hopus Pocus, but Hop became more distant in Hell.
Overall he's happier than he ever was on the surface!
Okay so i was wondering if you could do some headcanons where phear lap from cuphead realises he's fallen in love with the reader and what he'd do about it?

(As background, I hc Phear worked at the casino when he was alive, but as he neared retirement he dreaded giving up his livelihood. So he made a deal w/ the Devil that basically striped away his flesh and granted him immortality and a place by King Dice’s side).
You’re a regular at Phear’s derbies, usually to watch the races but if you had money to splurge you’ll make a few bets on your favorite rider(s).
He recognizes you right off the bat, noticing how his commentary made you grin and got you excited for the race to begin.
One day he’s on a break, smoking with Mr. Wheezy, and you formally introduce yourself to him. He likes your politeness.
Despite having no physical heart, he felt his metaphorical one beating fast and wonders what’s wrong with him.
Meanwhile, Wheezy instantly knows. And when you leave the cigar grins and tells him “yer in love, ain’t ya?”
Obviously Phear is gonna deny this.
But it doesn’t help when he gets distracted by thoughts of you and stuttering while he’s trying to commentate and keep up with the derby. And he sounds less enthusiastic when he can’t find you among the crowd.
The rest of the casino crew catches wind of this, but he’ll make excuses as to why he wasn’t going to say anything to you...though as the days pass it gets harder to put you out of his mind.
“Who would love an old, scary, cranky, spectral skeleton horse anyways?” He rants to Mangosteen.
“Well I heard some pirate on isle 3 was smitten for a sea monster!”
“..is that true?”
“Most certainly!”
“....hm. But still I’m cranky and old-”
But the 8-ball’s words do stick with him. If that siren had a chance with someone, maybe he did, too.
So Phear tries getting your attention in the most subtle ways, mostly by rigging derbies so your favorite rider wins.
You’re quick to realize this and wonder why he’s “gone soft” on your bets, though when you confront him he just produces a gift from his ribcage and shyly offers it to you.
Inside is a single golden horseshoe and a note with his confession.
He thought it was silly and did a double-take when you actually accepted.

Phear Lap (idk why I just like this guy)
He takes care of the stables (In my Au the casino has stables connected to it with many race horses some retired some still racing) and is good at it too, the devil trusts no one other than him with his mare (if you don´t get that look at my other headcanon post you should read that before this one since I discussed the main characters there).
I also imagene him being aroace and is the one character that does not have a pet(he likes reptiles though so yea)
Chips my boi
He´s a cowboy a typical cowboy, he manages the poker tables(no duh the poker chips manages the poker table) and even performs from time to time since he is a natural on the mandolin.

He´s just the cool Uncle to almost everyone and if you just need to tell your problmens to someone he´s your guy, Imagene someone bullies you and you tell that to him, you´re not gonna see that bullie ever again (since he probably murdered them).
Whezzy´s a hopeless bisexual romantic. He works at the bar, as a waiter or at tables, he´s basically second in command after dice.
Most of the time his only company is his guinea pig wich he called potato

So, I was looking for references for a drawing of mine, and I discovered this-
I have a feeling this real racehorse was the inspiration for Cuphead’s miniboss, Phear Lap.
The story about the real racehorse lines up with the time Cuphead is supposed to take place and lines up with what info we have on the miniboss.
According to Wikipedia;
Phar Lap (4 October 1926 – 5 April 1932) was a champion Thoroughbred racehorse whose achievements captured the Australian public's imagination during the early years of the Great Depression. Foaled in New Zealand, he was trained and raced in Australia by Harry Telford. Phar Lap dominated Australian racing during a distinguished career, winning a Melbourne Cup, two Cox Plates, an AJC Derby, and 19 other weight for age races. He then won the Agua Caliente Handicap in Tijuana, Mexico, in track-record time in his final race. After a sudden and mysterious illness, Phar Lap died in 1932 in Atherton, California. At the time, he was the third highest stakes-winner in the world.
His mounted hide is displayed at the Melbourne Museum, his skeleton at Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and his heart is currently on display at the National Museum of Austrailia, Canberra.
Early on 5 April 1932, the horse's strapper for the North American visit, Tommy Woodcock, found him in severe pain and with a high temperature. Within a few hours, Phar Lap hemorrhaged to death. An autopsy revealed that the horse's stomach and intestines were inflamed, leading many to believe the horse had been deliberately poisoned. There have been alternative theories, including accidental poisoning from lead insecticide and a stomach condition. It was not until the 1980s that the infection could be formally identified.
In 2000, equine specialists studying the two necropsies concluded that Phar Lap probably died of duodenitis-proximal jejunitis, an acute bacterial gastroenteritis.
In 2006, Australian Synchrotron Research scientists said it was almost certain Phar Lap was poisoned with a large single dose of arsenic in the hours before he died, perhaps supporting the theory that Phar Lap was killed on the orders of U.S. gangsters, who feared the Melbourne Cup-winning champion would inflict big losses on their illegal bookmakers.
Just when you thought Cuphead was detailed on things in the 1920-1930′s...this happens. Kudos to you, Studio MDHR. This really surprised me. I never loved this mini-boss more.
