Honesty.

The word that had been attached to the key he was handed filled Oliver with somthing that felt a hell of a lot like guilt. He couldn't say he was overly familiar with the concept, and more than a few people would agree that he wasn't the most honest of individuals. His dishonestty wasn't usually malicious, it was self preservation, but did that really make it any better?

These were the thoughts swirling through his mind as he sat in one of the armchairs of the suite, mindlessly watching condensation as it beaded along the glass of the champagne bottle, waiting to see who valued the quality he definitely didn't possess so much that they would write it down.

𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑹 𝑮𝑨𝒁𝑰𝑵𝑮 with oikawa would be the most magical thing ever. the two of you would lay under the beautiful night sky, his hand on yours as he points out  different constellations and star formations. you would share corny space jokes, and oikawa would laugh fondly, wondering how he was so lucky to have scored someone as perfect as you. you guys would share conspiracy theories too! mostly oikawa, since he’s a space dork and he trusts you enough to show you his geeky side. your theme song with him would be ‘space song’ by beach house! “you know baby, the stars are really beautiful, but none of them can compare to you.”

Cupid’s Match Review

I was given the opportunity to read this novel by Lauren Palphreyman, early in exchange for an honest review.

Cupid’s match is a fresh and original take on the supernatural teen romance genre. I loved it, I powered through the whole novel in a matter of hours, unable to put it down without thinking about it. There were lots of unexpected twist and turns throughput the novel that stopped me from putting it down. I was able to easily sympathize with the characters and found myself holding my breath as I cheered on Lila and Cupid every time they were together.

There are many times throughout the novel that made my heart swell and many that had me chuckling to myself as I read along.

The novel included mythological and historical characters to help move the story along and it was executed seamlessly and enriched the overall storytelling experience.

My only criticism of the story is that I would have liked to see more of Lila and James relationship in the beginning to be able to feel the full impact that Cupid had on her. In the end though it does not change the quality of the novel.

Other than that one note, I have nothing remotely negative to say about it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the open ended ending that left me wanting more. I will be buying a copy after release to support the author and I am excited for any sequels that maybe released it the future.
