and I'm just such a fucking mess at the wheel

I scream one last time

the bottled up feelings that I've claimed were mine

are out and away, going into the open air

maybe they'll come back, but for right now...

I'm too relieved to care

I sigh as I lean back and just pass the time

I mess with my sweatshirt, I mess with my hair.

I'm perfectly fine, but... somethings not there.

I don't know what it is or what it could be

even now, with you sitting so close to me

something's not right and doesn't sit well

I smile a bit, just so you can't tell

I don't know what it is or why I feel

like I'm going to suffocate just by sitting here

but I don't know how to fix it or what to do.

So instead I just sit here and wish that I knew

Mastery inthe art of Mind-escape

I don't like to sleep

where the water stretches its arms along our shores

but it is where you will find me, nonetheless

it being the only place my chest stops hurting

when drowning everyday in their slums.

I chose the sky as a

blanket even though it is at the best of times

a little holy with its starry nights.

Is not my preferred place for napping

but It is there I will select & as

I lie indignantly still & curled preciously

between the ocean & sky.

I have to wear goggles for when I lay my weary head on

a passing cloud. 

I wake up every night with water falling from my eyes,

& cotton silenced in my ears.
