Darius Simpson - "Genocide" (CUPSI 2015)
The media keeps calling these “altercations” I don’t understand why they’re spelling “execution” like that I’ve never heard “slaughter” pronounced that way

YOU WANT TO WATCH THIS POEM! "My father tells me of the monster underneath our skin on a Wednesday afternoon. He names it: Addiction" I coached Bianca these past two years on our CUPSI Team. It has been an honor and a privilege to watch her grow and flourish as a poet and artist! I can't wait to see what is in store for her!! Give love. Accept love.

24: Talk about something someone told you that meant a lot.
We did one on ones while we were at CUPSI and Janae told me about how much she was excited about my growth as an artist and poet. Which is really the validation I needed.

AN UPDATE:
CUPSI ‘15 was nothing short of magical. My team placed 10th out of 68 teams from across America (and one from Canada!) and I could not be prouder of them. My teammate got to perform on final stage as a sacrificial poet, and he absolutely killed it. Overall, it was a beautiful experience. I was surrounded by art all week, and people who knew how to create it. I’m so thankful. I’m so thankful. Everything was amazing. I can’t wait to start writing new things, and I’m pumped for CUPSI ‘16.
