Airplanes, Guinness and a dog called Star
We had a wonderful half term, we are just back from a week in Ireland visiting the 2 Nannies. It was just what I needed after the last few months and with the week ahead of us I could quite happily of stayed and have asked Gavin if we could consider a move across the Irish Sea. 😊
Nanny Mary has a jack Russell called Star who was absolutely brilliant with both of the children and showed how caring she was when Abigail had a seizure , Star sat by her legs while Gavin & I sorted and moved Abigail into the front room so that we could monitor her, once we had got Abigail sorted Star came over to the sofa and pawed Abigail’s foot until I lifted her were she them sat guard to keep an eye on her.
I think that “Team Mallon” maybe increasing by one in the near future !
Abigail took the whole travelling / flying in her stride and even made a friend on the way to Ireland, I am sure that when the man sat in the window seat saw us heading towards the empty seats next to him that his heart sank a little, but he got a free clean for his laptop and was asked nicely if he could “down” the window blind and when he did it a very nice “ta ta “ from Abigail – I was astounded that not only was she able to let a stranger know what she wanted by also had manners !!
Nanny Mary kept an eye on Abigail & Hugh so that Gavin & I could get out a couple of times for a few pints, only in Ireland would you be served a Cosmo in a half pint glass – brilliant value for money!!!
We went to Blarney for lunch which ended with Great Nanny & Abigail having a small food fight, I am still not sure who started it but Great Nanny certainly finished it!
The return journey got off to a shaky start when we had to sit on the tarmac as it was too windy for the plane to take off, after a short delay the flight was fine and we landed back to a wet and windy London.
So we are home now and have a busy week ahead of us. We have a couple of meetings to sort out getting Abigail back to school with a solution that makes Gavin & I happy that she will be safe, Abigail goes on Thursday to have her heart monitor fitted, I know that it is only a small procedure and that she will only be under GA for a short while but I still can’t help worrying.
Please keep Abigail in your thoughts & prayers and I will let you all know how it goes – knowing Abigail she will be fine it will just be Gavin & I that are nervous wrecks
Catch up soon Em x – Cureahcukmummy
