is there anything more miserable than watching a man drink his life away ? it’s hard to believe there is when you see clay puppington slumped in an alleyway in the middle of the night, flask in hand. he wallows in his misery, relishes in it — no woman or man can keep up with the toxic love of a swig of whiskey these days. it sends shivers down his spine, a feeling he can only relieve by downing more. he doesn’t care. nothing feels more liberating that being free of all consequence. “ this town’s a broken, holy mess. ”  he grumbles. an admission of guilt on his part. wasn’t it his job to run the place or something ?

Ghoul wasn’t around, so this poor unsuspecting stranger was the one who had to deal with Dark Phantom’s ramblings. 

“Like her favorite dinner spots, what kind of movies she likes, if she’s into white haired vampire-looking bad boys... stuff like that.”

     The imp was on her nightly wanderings, passing by windows and over rooftops, unseen to anyone who might be awake at the time. She found herself missing the days when the world was all asleep at night, wanting to avoid the witching hour...

     On this particular night, Icra had been planning on giving someone quite the whirlwind of a nightmare, but it seemed her new victim friend was already struggling with their own stormy dreams. So into her mind she went, changing her plans to play hero for the night and save this poor soul from whatever plagued her sleeping mind. Though she did hesitate upon seeing the image of Bill Cypher haunting about, but quickly realized he was simply a dream figment and not the real deal.

     “Sorry friend, I’ll be occupying this space tonight~” she said before whisking the nightmare away, instead letting the dream bloom into quite a lovely open field. A grassy hillside on a summer day, all the wildflowers in bloom. For now she simply watched the dreamer, curious about how she would react to such a sudden change of scenery....

Faster than she can blink, an arm snakes out, curling around her midsection to yank her off her feet and squeeze. Otto would be honest with himself, he had come to terms with the little gateway getting away for good.

His luck, it would seem, was looking up. For once in his life, anyway.
