Pasteur takes his responsibility to take care of Admirably very seriously.

He's reading well ahead of his grade level, which is a bit of a disadvantage since grownup books are so full of things like kissing that aren't interesting at all.

"You like this movie?" "I don't, particularly. But it's Mitchie's favorite."

Now that they have an actual bookstore in town, Pascal makes a point of going there with Pasteur and encouraging them to stock suitable literature.

"Hello, Jenny! Will Jill have a signing here when her next book comes out?" "What a good idea!"

"Mitchie's engaged, Admirably! Can you believe it? I'm having trouble believing it. We'd better invite her over."

"Hi. I'm Pasteur. I'm my sister's little brother." "Okay. Hi. I'm Edward and I'm my fiancee's fiancé."

"I can almost hang loose, see?" "Really? Me too!"

"Hi, rugrat. You missing me?" "Sort of. I sleep in your room now, to keep Admirably company."

Edward seems to feel a little shy about coming to the house.

Crystal, purely coincidentally, comes strolling by with HMS.

"Hi, Aunt Crystal! You can stay and visit with Mitchie and Edward, too." "Thank you, Pasteur, I think I will."

"Movies look so much better on this TV than on the one in the dorm."

"Of course we don't allow her outside. Cats are much too big a danger to the local fringed desert rat."

"Are you a good dog? I don't think we need a dog."

"If you're happy, I'm happy, dear. Now that you're engaged and the suspense isn't distracting, perhaps you can pull the grades up a little?" "I'll think about it."

Curious Prime

Pasteur gets on top of his summer school projects at once, leaving him plenty of time to discover the wonders of the internet. He uses Mitchie's password to log into Library of Our Own, where she has an account full of the most fascinating bookmarks.

Christy has to work, but Pascal has some time, and he and Pasteur use it to get the yard into order.

Pascal also has a lot of reading to do, but that's all right - Pasteur is reading, too.

He's also become proficient with the phone. "Hi, Euclid! Do you know Lyla?"

"So how soon am I big enough to go around with Lyla and Euclid and everybody?" "You'll be that big before you know it. Enjoy being a child while you can." "But it's teenagers that get to go everywhere and do everything!"

"How do you stand watching those scary movies, hon?" "I've always loved scary movies. If they bother you I'll hold you, don't worry." "Why do grownups have to be so mushy?" "It releases endorphins in us." "Oh. Okay."

"You remember the dance moves I taught you?" "Of course! I practice with Mommy."

"Mommy! Mitchie's here! She brought her fiancy person!" "She did? How exciting!"

"You're working awfully late these days." "Yes, well, you know how it is in the labs." Mitchie is very grown up and polite to her now. Christy finds this disorienting.

"You've grown up into such a fine young lady! But I'm a little afraid of you hurrying into things." "I'm not, honestly. Edward and I have things to work out and we wanted a nice long trial run in a residence of our own. If we won't work we want to find out now rather than later." "I see. Well. I suppose I wouldn't want you taking as long as I did, either...though if that's how long it takes to meet the right person, all I can say is, they're worth waiting for."

"Pascal? Honey? Wake up - there's sirens." "Sirens? Oh. Oh, that can't be good."

They have to hustle out of the habitat in the middle of the night cycle, as the weather systems go haywire and life support starts failing. Most of the shuttles are going to the Great Bear Fleet, but the largest one will be carrying sim visitors back planetside, if they can get there in time.

I do not wish to discourage anyone from trying Jawusa’s Moonbase Apollo, because it’s beautiful and a space habitat is a great place to send the Curiousi on vacation. But. I will have to delete it because - as I should have considered before I ever downloaded it - all the lovely and very clever lots are built partially underground and it’s massively uncomfortable for me to play basements even if the game isn’t crashing at every lot change, which is damn near what was happening. This crashing is almost certainly a problem with my set up and not the neighborhood; but between those two things, the Moonbase Apollo refuge for those citizens of the Great Bear Fleet who want to get off the mothership has catastrophically failed.

"You positive it's not appropriationist to get alien outfits?" "Don't do it if your conscience is against it, but they are far more suitable for the habitat than anything we've got. And I'd just as soon distance myself from all these refugees from Burning Robot, myself."

Pascal has a talk to give concerning his family's experience with the rogue PTs, and does everything he can think of to calm his nerves prior to it.

Mitchie overcomes her dislike of doing something suggested by the IL, and gets herself a really cute outfit before trying out the alien delicacies on offer.

Pasteur conks out early. "Of course we have to share a room...but I guess it won't hurt me. 'Night, rugrat." "ZZZZ."

"Say, have you met my cool aunt? Darwin's mom, not Tycho's?" "I don't think so?"

"You'll love college, Mitchie." "Yeah, I expect so. You'll keep an eye on things over here, right?" "I won't need to. Your dad and Christy can look after Pasteur and Admirably just fine." "Dad can, anyway." "Mitchie. You're entering the world of grown ups. It's time to let go of that daddy's girl nonsense."

"Who wants eggrolls?" Pascal's not sure who all these kids are. He recognizes Tycho and Darwin, of course, and a couple of these kids have names starting with G.

"I understand the sorority has the best gamers." "You planning to pledge?" "Maybe? I don't know."

"Algebra is just arithmetic with the holes in different places! I'm telling you, high school math is a waste of time!"

"So they only pay out when people die of old age. That just seems wrong."

Curious Disaster Crash Vacation

Pasteur is hugely excited as they head off for Moonbase Apollo.

"Don't overdo the excitement, kiddo! It looks dull as Strangetown around here." "But it's a whole nother planet!" "It's a moon in the middle of being terraformed, not a planet. We can't stay dancing out here too long."

The habitat they're staying in is neither elegant nor roomy, and the service leaves something to be desired. But Christy is determined to be a good sport about everything.

Mitchie isn't sure about meeting full aliens - are they going to be snobby? But the first one she runs into is very polite - and has a snazzy outfit!

(And crash as they head out to go shopping. Fortunately I always save before sending sims to a community lot.)
