Or, When the god who cursed you finds and attacks you because you refuse to give them the stolen heart that beats in your chest, and the sea god steps in to protect you because you live in their domain (and because they care about you, they Care about you), but now you are bleeding from your eyes and ears and nose and mouth because mortals like you shouldn’t be exposed to divinity like this (and gods sure do let their divinity leak out when they fight each other).
