…A list of eligible bachelors. Something burned down Felix’s spine at those words, mind repeating them over and over again in his “Mother”s That Woman’s voice until it was all he could hear. So, he did what he did best, and reacted without thought. While he neither understood nor cared to understand tact, he at least knew kindness, could at least generally assume they didn’t like the position they were put in. (The kindness came from his sister, though anyone else would be hard-pressed to name a moment where he was kind.)
“That’s bullshit,” didn’t exactly snap, but it was a near thing, burning gaze settled on their right ear. “Everyone’s obsessed with Crests and arranged marriages to get Crests. It’s fucking idiotic, if you ask me.” (His mind attempted to name the burning feeling as jealousy, but he ignored it; impossible to be jealous when he hadn’t even said anything, yet.) “If you don’t want to get married, just tell him that.” As if it were so easy, but even Gwenn would admit his sense of what was and wasn’t kind was a bit skewed, even on a good day.
“Or if you had somebody in mind, it’d make him shut up for a while.”
