Another long day, those bags underneath her eyes had only deepened and she was confident she wouldn’t be able to sleep still. Each time she had dozed off while reading a book or even just from sitting still for a few moments she saw more images, more waves crashing against the shoreline. It sent a chill down her spine. Why was she seeing this? Why won’t it go away? She grumbled underneath her breath as though to answer her own questions and shuffled down the hall toward her chamber. This time, however, she hesitated. Deep down she knew that if she went in, sleep was an inevitability.
Could she do it? Would it kill her? Could her heart even handle the strain at this rate? She groaned, she had to, she was so tired of being awake. The door creaked open as she stepped through the threshold and tripped, landing on the end of her bed with a soft grunt and allowed the door to swing closed behind her. Her bed was so soft, so comfortable and warm. All she wanted to do was sleep.
Sea salt air slapped her in the face as the next thing she knew she was standing above Suramar once more, her friends below and the two cloaked figures behind. This time, she turned and stayed quiet to observe.
“What is it you seek?” Their ghost in the tomb from before asked again.
“The Oracle.” The unknown female replied once more, though this time their attention was not drawn to Catisa and remained on that all too familiar scrying orb between them. Within its dull glow an image appeared of a grassy knoll, dark skies above and a single figure clad in crimson running across. Raven black hair blew in the wind and her face… it was her!
“What do you want with me?!” The screamed at them, tears in her eyes as rage and fear filled her being and controlling her as she flicked her wrists and flames wrapped around her fingers.
That was when she heard it, a deep hollow voice void of life and emotion rang forth with its command, “Wake up.”
Her eyes shot open and she found herself on her bed once more, though she had managed to sit upright and those flames still writhed and danced at her fingertips. She quickly shook them out and began to sob, the heavy realization that she had almost burnt down the estate from a night terror set upon her at last and she was terrified. Terrified that she would kill her new family the same way her father had perished all those years ago.
