The She-Shed Part III
Ok, everyone! We’re moving on to the next task...
...making a 2 panel curtain for the front of the She-Shed Cocktail Table!
Remember...this is the fabric I selected...
...to go around this cabinet.
Since I already had the fabric precut from Joann’s Fabrics, my first step is to sew a flap that the curtain rod will slide through. This what the finished flap looks like...
If you like a ruffle at the top of your curtains, just buy a slightly bigger piece of fabric than what you need. This will cause it to bunch together once it’s on the curtain rod, and it will give you a nice ruffle effect.
***Since I’m sewing these curtains by-hand, it would take waaayyy too long for me to post a video or string of photos about how to do it. So let me just say that hand-sewing is easy to learn! Really! It’s also a good skill to have. Sewing machines are great too! If you’d like to learn how to sew, I’m sure there are tons of video tutorials online or even a class you can take.
Ok, back to the curtains...
I bought a small, metal curtain rod from Walmart. Easy to install! Simply screw a bracket onto each side of the cabinet...
...and then clip on the curtain rod. Here it is...
And here’s the first curtain panel finished...
And here’s the second...
I still have to hem the bottom, but this will give you a nice idea of what the curtains will look like once they’re done!
What’s next? Well, I’m planning to get some peel & stick wallpaper for the inside of the cabinet!! To give it more flare!
