The She-Shed

Hi Everyone!  It’s been a while....well just a week, but it seems like longer.

Once Halloween ended, it was time to move on to my next project...and that was no easy task. I had to find exactly what I was looking for and I finally did...

You’ve done it again Goodwill!  Ok, Ok, let me explain what you’re looking at...

Backstory: I have a she-shed.  Actually, it’s just my closet, but I call it The She-Shed (hey, it’s 200 sq ft. so I think it qualifies..lol). Here’s a glimpse of the inside... 

Cozy!  There will be more pics to come...(there’s actually a tv and LED lights in here, though they’re not in this picture). But what I’ve really been wanting is a tall cabinet that has storage underneath and a nice flat top that I can use as a cocktail table. That’s right!  A cocktail table!  

Remember how I love, love, love wine? Well I also love cocktails!  It’s fun to sip a rum & coke while you get dressed for an evening out, or drink a mimosa while slipping into your bathing suit for a day of sunbathing by the pool. And that brings me back to the white cabinet that I found at Goodwill for only $4!!!  It’s in pretty good shape!  No major flaws!  But I’m still going to give it a total makeover. Honestly, I’m not sure how I’m going to design the top yet, but I do know that I’m going to put a skirt around the bottom. This will give it a great flare, while also hiding all the storage underneath. Something like this...but totally different.

I’m only using this pic to give you an idea of how the skirt will go around the bottom of the table. I’m going to use a different color...maybe pink & gray.  AND, I’m going to sew the skirt myself, so there will be lots of posts about that.

Well, that pretty much sums up the project...  My goal is to have it completed before Thanksgiving, but we’ll see.  Most likely it will be next week before I get started, but I’ll post some of my ideas every day...

Today we got our first real dusting of snow (that stuck)! Yay!!!!! It was so magical working in my cozy little hut while I watched the landscape transform into a winter wonderland ⛄️ ❄️ I’m glad I let the electrician talk me into installing a real heater in the shed! 🤣 Looking forward to many more white winter mornings and also SKIING ⛷ woohoo!!!!!!!
