Tonight (Tuesday 15th May 2018) was the final night of the CCAD Textiles Club, and after weeks of dyes, tests, screen printing and cutting out fabric, I’ve managed to complete my first seashell cushion. A combination of natural (onion skin) and synthetic dyes were used for the habotai silk front, as it created a sand-like blotchy effect, creating contrast with the royal blue and pink two-tone sheshell screen print.
While the Textiles Club has finished, this is not the end of the making process, as I intened to finish my seashell cushion set in time for summer.
