Meet a custom slugcat:

Leaflin

Leaflin cannot eat berries and things like it (mold, lily pads, and even poppy corn).

Leaflin is able to hide from enemies (unless they were already seen). They are not able to move though, while hiding.

Though some enemies will be able to notice you, either through different means, (like if they can’t see in the first place you may be noticed) or enemies like the red lizard are able to see you.

The main way to get food is by ambushing prey / any animals near you (it’s like a leap but you hold x instead of z).

You can also incapacitate enemies for a quick snack/damage (like hitting a lizard with a rock).

Leaflin’s movement is between survivor and rivulet, but closer to survivor. Also Leaflin doesn’t have anywhere near the breath capacity that rivulet has.

She’s basically just a weird fusion between Hunter, spearmaster, gourmand and artificer

she has the ability to carry two spears at once, maul, and slam from enough distance (it would have to be a really long fall, or slide boosting with a projectile into something. A normal slide or roll won’t work.)

she can also take two spear hits before dying, and has the ability to maul to get out of lizard bites twice

However each time this happens she will bleed until the cycle ends, and her stats will lower each time she avoids death. After the first incident she will lose her ability to slam, and after the second she can only hold one spear

she is carnivorous and needs a lot of pips to hibernate and very little are stored over

On top of all this her campaign has the expedition hunted mechanic due to how strongly of blood she smells

Had a dream that there was a slugcat who looked like a lil armadillo. Their gimmick was that they were immortal (bites, spears, explosions couldn't kill them; things like longfalls n leviathans could), but they had a Digestion Metre that functioned like Saint's cold metre. They had to constantly eat or they'd starve to death

I had literally too much brainrot for Scug!Pebbles and so I made an excuse to make that an AU

Thus, The Shifter. They're an experiment by Sliver of Straw before the Triple Affirmative, with the Max Karma ability being a random mutation caused by the initial shapeshifting alteration. Sliver believed the Shifter to be a failure, having not thought of giving them max karma. The Shifter was then sent out into the wild, in which they eventually travelled towards Pebbles and Moon, and after getting max karma from Echoes, ended up turning Pebbles into a slugcat (post-Rivulet, pre-Saint). After this they found the void sea and ascended. (If you feel like it, feel free to slip into my asks and specifically ask about the Shifter and I’ll brainstorm more stuff lmao)

rainworld oc woo yeahhhh i dub them saltcat for now because i can’t think of a cooler name rn probably gonna put them in my game as a custom slugcat someday so that’s fun!! second image is just a mockup to see how well they would work palette-wise in the rw environments, and i think the colors stand out well enough.
