When you've been working for 8 and 1/2 hours and only have about hour left before close when you can finally start cleaning and a kid forgets the rest of the phrase "Shut up Shop"

aka one of the funniest things to happen at work

Our supervisor then came over and asked what happened because we were both losing it lol

A child came in with his parents and sister and went right up to our button badges, picked one up and proudly yelled “this one says fuck off!”

us: "Hi there, what can I get for you?"

them: "HEY THERE, HOW ARE YOU DOING??"

us: "Oh, um, great, thanks, how are you?"

them: "GREAT--can I get a __________"

i literally hate this interaction so much, like why did they make me answer that question when they don't even care and i wasn't trying to start it like that?

happens so many times a day.

stop forcing me to tell you how i'm doing so that you can pretend you treat us like humans.

So, that was a fun customer interaction, given today has been emotionally challenging on several levels. Helped cheer me up a little. As some of you know my notification sound is a Brainbot barking. Because of the challenges of the day so far my phone has been sounding off frequently. It barks and I hear a younger child (perhaps 6/7 years old) say "that sounds like those robot things from Megamind". Mom replies "it certainly does". I do a fist pump in my mind as I turn towards them and say "that's because it is." Mom says " that's a great movie, we watch it a lot." I also mentioned to her that my ringtone is the phone scene. She laughed and started dialoging the scene. I meant to tell her that she was a good mom for introducing her son to this masterpiece, but they left the aisle shortly thereafter.

Phone Rings while I’m at work; I answer with the standard greeting while finishing up by asking how can I help.

The customers reply? Asking me to transfer them to anyone (literally anyone) but me. Because they didn’t want my help

365 Days of Posts- Day 76

New coworker started today. They're 70-something but they seem eager. We'll see how they do.

Came across a customer with the same name as me today. I have an uncommon name so that was a nice surprise.

Tonight was a bit of an emotional roller coaster, but in a good way. 2nd to last episode of a show I'm watching has me DYING for the season finale, and my roommate kept making some of the best dick jokes I've ever heard. Overall, a pretty good evening

One of my cats scratched my leg in a really awkward place and now it's uncomfortable to sit on it. Help
